Decision a result of Hadash and the Israeli Communist parties' demand that an official stance against the Israeli demand be taken before the Annapolis conference

The Higher Arab Monitoring Committee unanimously decided Saturday to reject Israel's demand that the Palestinians recognize it as a "Jewish State" as a part of the peace negotiations. The Palestinians have also announced that they reject the Israeli demand.
The decision was made at the Committee's meeting in Nazareth after Hadash and the Israeli Communist parties demanded that an official stance against the Israeli demand be taken prior to the upcoming Annapolis conference.
An official letter on the matter is expected to be sent to the Israeli government, the Quartet, the Arab League and other relevant bodies.
The demand was made due to fears that defining Israel as a "Jewish State" would bring about "a worsening in the condition of Arab-Israelis and will hinder the realization of the Palestinian refugees' Right of Return."
Former Knesset Member Mohamed Naffa (Hadash) said: "We have no expectations of the Annapolis conference. Nothing good will come out of the White House. This is an important decision primarily for the Palestinian population inside Israel that comprises a significant percentage of the Palestinian people and will be the first to be affected by it."
Hadash Party leader MK Mohammad Barakeh said: "This decision is a new stage of our battle to stay in our homeland."
Warning! This is a high-volume ping list.
arabs who hate Israel are commies. Who knew?
??????
But the Islmo-Arabs do recognize a Jewish state, it is called the bottom of the Ocean.
Sooner or later Foggy Bottom is going to have to be purged of the liberal swine and have to confront these morons.
This will not surprise anyone knowlegable about Israel, but they will want to be informed about it, just the same.
“Arabs: No to recognition of Israel as ‘Jewish State’
I am sure there is something new here to be in the news section. Just have not figured it out yet.

"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
Palestinians never miss a chance to miss an opportunity.
Well, some one turn out the lights in Tel Aviv, the Arab League said you cannot stay there as a state.../s
Yes, I’m as dumbfounded as you are.
As far as I know there is only one Israeli communist party in existence - Hadash. There used to be another one called Maki who were on the fringes of Israeli politics. Now Maki is officially a sub-party (if it can be called that) under Hadash.
Not surprisingly, Hadash is predominently an Arab-Israeli party. As far as I know there is no Jewish communist party in existence and even if there is one it would be so fringe so as not to hold a single Knesset (Israeli Parliament) seat.
Jews who hate Israel are commies.
Arabs who hate Israel are Arabs.
Meretz?
Well, now there’s no point in meeting in Annapolis.
The Palis all agree on one thing:
Jews need only to do one thing: the same thing the alien told the US President in “Independence Day”.
Let us pray for a similar outcome as the movie had.
No to Palestine as any kind of stae.
What really get me about this, is that there really isn’t anything such as a “Palestinian”. The name “Palestrina” was coined by Imperial Rome after sacking and burning Jerusalem in the first century a.d. It was meant as an insult, renaming Israel after their ancient enemies, the Philistines.
Arabs sure aren’t Philistines.
“Meretz”
Nope. As far as I know Meretz self identifies as Social-Democratic. In many ways they do support the welfare state and several socialist policies, but they’re definitely not what I’d call a communist party.
There are a lot of old-party Stalinists (Shulamit Aloni comes to mind) who went over to Meretz after the demise of Mapam.
