IMO you treat ninety year old people with respect. You don’t get up close and personal like that. A few words of recognition without touching would have been sufficient, but if a hand was extended, that should have been the method of contact. Travolta acted as if an ignorant insulting fool here. That was downright abusive.

I agree. So many who grew up in the 60s have no respect for their elders. How inappropriate of Travolta. He should be ashamed. Kirk Douglas is a classy guy but I wouldn’t have blamed him if he had slugged Travolta.

One cool reality of this is that Kirk is a 90 year old true celebrity and he loves it, for him to become news again in a story that is hip and humorous, that makes him look good and connects him with a younger current star is wonderful
The press and public loves Kirk and he will get a lot of interviews from this. Travolta is of that world and he knew that this was a gift to Douglas (and a little to his own flagging career).
