A bit off topic, but I really would like to see WIBC stop powering down right in the middle of Paul Harvey’s rest of the story. It is so annoying. They power down (AM stations power down at night) at exactly 5:30, just as Harvey is wrapping up the segment. They could at least wait to power down until his segment is finished.

They are required to power down by federal law. They don’t have discretion as to what time.

True but they gotta follow FCC regs. Time when a station
powers down or changes direction (because of other
stations on their frequency) varies with the sunset.

keep in mind the news/talk moves to FM in a little while,
