I know Thompson's has been somewhat a critical of china, but what exactly is Fred's stance now.
Wake up America!!

The off-shoring is caused by U.S. government policies. Heavy regulation and high taxes. It's easier to get a return on an investment when you don't have to wait for years to build, encumber your factories with all manner of mandated equipment then pay huge taxes on top of all that other interference.
When the socialists in Congress fix their stupid tax and regulation policies, there may be interest in making capital investments in the United States.
I would happily start a business in southeast Idaho, but the state insists on a personal property tax on every non-business physical object on the business premises. Screw that. It certainly explained why so many businesses have such a spartan appearance around here.
"level the playing field"
A buzz-phrase used by Clinton and Bush that I find reprehensible when factoring in China. I'm surprised at Hunter.
EXCELLENT!
“Wake up America!!”
Hiya Blackie!
We snooze, we lose!!
BUMP
Bravo Zulu!!
It's an understandable fear (being flamed). I get flamed whenever I make references to Billy Bob Thornton to the good ol boys out on the factory floor.
Sure, taxes and regulations. Im sure every business man in America would absolutely love it if Americans adopted the developing worlds way of life without a fight. No democracy, no civil rights, no unions, no environmental protection, no privacy laws, no minimum wage, no benefits. Im not about to join the race to the bottom without a fight.

Why the smart money is on Duncan Hunter

He hasn’t had kind words for these multinational companies. There was an article by him somewhere lambasting these corporations; you still have it somewhere Cal?
Duncan Hunter voted Yay for trade with Australia, because it was in our country’s best interests.
Communist China’s $250 BILLION trade imbalance EACH YEAR is NOT in our country’s best interests.
I don’t really blame multinationals for the majority of this, just as I do not blame immigrants for our myriad immigration problems. They do what they do to stay solvent, to make a profit, to stay competitive.
Basically, it’s a lack of American leadership and an apathetic electorate (the sheeple) who are mostly to blame. Our “leadership” knows what’s in these trade deals and they have known for decades but have lacked either the resolve or the intellect to address this issue. I virulently reject the notion that “free trade”, in it’s present form, is somehow this conservative entity that dare not be questioned.
I know free-traders will come along later and excoriate my comment and tell me how wonderful things are and perhaps how I, as well as Hunter, are protectionists and isolationists. This they will do. What they won’t do, however, is trade with me. I get the Chinese deal and they get the American deal, and we trade. I never get any takers on my deal and I wonder why. If it is a good enough deal for our country, then surely, it must be a good deal for them as well.
Yes. Our good friends - "Most Favored Nation" - The guys who keep blocking every attempt at UN sanctions against Iran - Communist China.
I suppose we're just still paying China off for all of Bill Clinton's deals.
Your bias is clear. I'll bet your bumper is adorned with "Union Yes" and "Right to work sucks" stickers as well. Are you planning to "fight" on the picket line? If so, plan to see more factory closings. The people with the capital will invest it where they expect the best return. They have no incentive or obligation to do otherwise. What will you do to make it attractive to invest in factories on U.S. soil?
In China, they have a thriving capitalist economy, and where they have that, freedom will follow. It is just a matter of time.
In China, their servicemen have formed an underground organization, that is voicing opposition to the government; soldiers who have been demobilized are supposed to have jobs and benefits. What is happening is that the companies that were owned by the government are being moved into the private sector, and they are having trouble finding jobs for all of them.
Also there was a law passed that the Chinese can now own private property. And there are reports in some churches in America that they are becoming Christian as well!
So I think that the Chinese will not stay our enemy if these events fall into place. And if that be the case, this policy of Hunter's is once again, not a good policy to pursue.
Thanks, but that is your opinion. Not one I share. We’re arming China. Remember, Hunter is privy to a lot more information than you’ll get from an economics professor, who all have varying opinion.
