Seens you are new to these immigration threads. You don’t need to round them up. Just stop the trillion dollars in freebees they are getting and they will self deport for the most part.

You are right, I am somewhat new to immigration threads, but I am not new to thinking about the problem.

Yes, freebees would help reduce the desirability of illegally entering somewhat. However, the illegal immigrants that I have seen and spoken too (I am reasonably fluent in Spanish) did not seem to be partaking of these freebees. They were working under the table in construction either for earlier immigrants who as small entrepreneurs knew their way around and had work to provide, or were doing pick-up work by hanging around Home Depot or other likely informal spots waiting for short term work. When I drove along the Gulf (Hurricane) Coast summer a year ago, they were working to rebuild the shattered towns, some getting only $3 or $4 dollars from enterprising businesses from out of state. Their families were home in Mexico and points south waiting for the meager savings from these low wages to be sent home. I asked one guy if he would rather move his family here or go back home. He said he would rather live in Mexico. I asked him what he like about living here. He said “The police are honest!” Perhaps we should put pressure on Mexico to clean up their police or pay them better so they are not so corrupt?
