A OICW like rifle that using 20mm airbirst ammunition. (Its concepts are very similar-almost same)
If development completed. It will equipped 2 per one squad
The video also contains other footage:
- a portable tracked robot
-155mm artillery range extension round.
- Xk-2 armor test with 120mm gun

These are needed on America’s southern border.

Once the video clip for the rifle is shown, the narrator did say that the airburst ammo is detonated in mid-air, and the shooter can calibrate how far the ammo travels before it is detonated.

I seem to remember that we were working on something similar to that ammo. Never heard if it was put into service.

The story I heard that people complained that it is rather bulky, and hard to carry around. If made smaller, it compromises the firepower, so the argument goes.
I do not know if this will be successfully deployed. It is still in testing phase.

I'll take two before they are ATF classified as firearms.
Great on the deer stand.

Saw something similar on FutureWeapons a few weeks ago.
The gun has a built in rangefinder. The soldier takes a reading of the range, it’s automatically sent to the round.
The soldier can fire through a window and the round explodes just inside, killing combatants inside without having to take out the wall..
IIRC it was 20mm.
Cool.

whoa- that 20 mm airburst ammo must be something else !
If it has a rangefinder and the ammo travels to a certain distance then explodes in the air with hundreds of pieces of shrapnel, that means that it could wipe out a whole squad of 10-15 fellows if they are bunched together..if the kill radius is 25 yards, it could be devastating...Al-Q, kiss your *** goodbye baby !

“Great on the deer stand.”
Yeah, right. If you really were a hunter, you wouldn’t day that. Shrapnel would tear up the meat and make it inedible.

Well, sorry. The comment part in the post is partly copied from some other source, which unfortunately contained this little misspelling, which I am made aware just now thanks to you.
Then I noticed that I made another misspelling "airbust."
Sorry about these mistakes. I was busy assembling together video, comment, and photo. I was not paying enough attention to spelling. I hope I can do better the next time around.:-)
