the Insurer should pay up as per their policy.

They're out the same amount of money no matter who gets it. For them to file a lawsuit to avoid paying the husband is extra cost out of their pocket. They must be doing this on principle since it makes no business sense.

This is one of those situations that we don’t really know what the whole story is, the guy may have co-operated with the insurance investigation..but not quite enough...the police may be trying to use the insurer as leverage to have the guy give “just one more interview”.

Who knows really? The pay off amount isn’t huge 467,000, so it could be principle, or it could be trying to see if the guy will somehow incriminate himself and void any pay off from the insurance policy.

“if” the guy hired someone to do the killing, they will want some money, in cases like this there have been times when “persons unknown” have complained to the police about not being payed....
