HAS and SASC should call SecDef and CJCS for testimony on this subject. It’s disgraceful. Probably some minor civil servant running amok, but minor civil servants have supervisors who should be taken to task.

There was a thread yesterday on this, and some former military FReepers who know the DoD accounting system said it was probably just an automatic form letter generated because some number wasn’t entered correctly or some box left unchecked. And there after apparently been other cases of this happening. I’m sure that now that the word is out, DoD will make a hasty fix of the problem.
