No, once the Supreme Court takes a case, it WILL issue a decision in that case. It does not “defer to the lower court.” If it affirms the lower court, then the 2nd Amendment as an individual right becomes the law in all jurisdictions in the nation. If it reverses the lower court, then the individual right disappears in all jurisdictions.

The right won't 'disappear'. It will still be there. Rights, having been granted to us by our Creator, cannot disappear.
What it would mean is that for the first time the SCOTUS will actually abrogate a clearly enumerated Civil Right.
Very quickly after that things will get ugly. Really ugly.
