He does have a point. If one believes in smaller, less intrusive, fiscally responsible government then none of the major candidates on either side are attractive choices. But it’s been that way for a 20 years now.
I don’t want to find a candidate who claims to agree with me. I’d like to see more of a track record.
Rick Perry (R-Texas) ran for re-election as governor and lied to the voters. He didn’t get my vote (I voted ‘Kinky’ Friedman). There was a Libertarian candidate (who didn’t even get to participate in the lone debate) but everyone else was a former (or current) Democrat even if they ran as “independents” or “Republican”.
After the election he renegged on his campaign rhetoric and laughed it off. The Republican voters weren’t happy. I could see through the man.
So I look at who it is, what they are saying, how they are saying it, what they’ve done in the past, etc.
I understand the opposition to Rudy. So oppose him in the primary.
