I wonder if the Hatfield is traced back to Hatfield in Hertfordshire often people seemed to have surnames linked to the places they lived in?
Information on Hatfield

Hey Nordie! After you mentioned TSO the other day, I remembered that I’d seen they were going to be at the DCU Centre in Worcester. Turns out they WERE here, on Nov. 10th!

An item I use for measuring solid fats like butter or shortening is the
Wonder Cup . I've had mine for probably 15 years and I love it! One of the reviews was saying it couldn't be used for liquids, but I've used mine for honey, so I know it can be used for really thick, sticky liquids.

Thank you for this information snugs. I had no idea. And don’t know much about the Hatfields, so cannot comment on that.

It can also mean White-Indian and White-Oriental although there were not that many WO people back then. We know my ggrandmother was Indian but we just do not know what tribe. Since the kids were offered land in OK, it could be any tribe who moved on the Trail of Tears. My mother thought she may have been Cherokee since there were other Cherokee families in the area. I have my doubts about that though. We may never know.

it’ll be hard, since they kept no records back then. Heck, even my dad was born at home and was a week old before he had a birth cert.

I was born in hospital but I think it was over a week before I had one as they were still arguing over what my name would be in the end dad went ahead and registered me in a way I think mum never forgive him she wanted me to be called Susan and instead I am Eleanor Joy.
