While I would like to agree with your optimism, I also remember the fact that Bill was able to get re-elected. Therefore I fear the shear stupidity of a large number of American voters.

Slick won about 43% of the vote....Ross Perot was the reason slick got elected and re-elected. Hildebeast probably won't have the luxury of a 3rd party drawing votes away from the republican candidate.

Bill was reelected against a, shall we say, lackluster candidate in ‘86 with 49.1% of the vote. Even running as an incumbent against that political powerhouse Bob Dole, he never managed to get a majority of the vote. Bill Clinton is wildly popular among DEMOCRATS because he represents power to them, but he was never wildly popular with the overall electorate.

Democrats ignore that very critical fact to their detriment.
