The Green Bay Packers hope a bigger game lies ahead than Thursday's showdown for NFC supremacy in Dallas.
The Packers finished Thursday's 37-26 victory at Detroit with Frank Walker, Tramon Williams and Charlie Peprah three players who were among the last to make the 53-man roster out of training camp playing regularly in the secondary. They once again were playing short at defensive tackle after Colin Cole left with a broken arm. They also had a backup right tackle in the game, had lost one of the league's sack leaders and were recycling many defensive contributors on special teams.
In all, eight players sustained or aggravated injuries in the game.

Cowboys injuries
Greg Ellis starting outside linebacker missed first 3 games because he ruptured his achilles tendon last Nov. and still isn’t 100%.
Terry Glenn starting wide receiver hasn’t played at all this year.
Jason Ferguson starting nose tackle lost for the year 1st guarter of 1st game.
Terrance Newman starting cornerback and perhaps the best defensive player missed first 3 games and has played at less than 100% since then.
Anthony Henry starting cornerback injured in 5th game missed 3 games and has played only in situations since them.
Hey everyone has injuries.
Why bother? Tom Brady & Friends will be wearing the ring come February.
Well, add in the cheesebra rash... and it does not look good for Farve's Fellas in Big D!
However, I wonder... is this the start of excuses if the Pack comes up short Thursday night?
I hate the Patriots!!!! lol
Maybe so, but they CHEATED!
The Cowboys could probably keep up with the Patriots in the Super Bowl—for one half. Afterwards, the combination of the great receiving corps and the underrated running game from the Patriots will do in the Cowboys.
It’s simply par for the course. These guys will be ready come Thursday.
“Maybe so, but they CHEATED!”
Yup. Therefore they should be denied playing in this years playoffs.
Glenn and Ferguson are the only ones truly injured and sitting out. Ellis has been back after renegotiating his contract and Neuman about the same time.
“underrated running game”
What running game? They didn’t even have a running game against the Cowboys when they beat them. The Pats won that game based solely on the passing game which is the Cowboys weakness.
Do you know anything about injuries? Greg Ellis ruptured his achilles on Nov 12, 2006. Anyone who knows anything will tell you a injury like that will take a year to 18 months for the pain to subside. Ellis still isn’t pain free he and the coaching staff have said he is closer to 80 to 85% healthy.
Newman has a partially torn plantar fascia, look it up its a injury that won’t be healed till next year.
You know what I say...err, maybe you don't. "No excuses! Only reasons for one more beer."
Give me a break. Sour grapes make lousy wine. Speaking of wine, would you like some cheese with yours?
Morning, big... you coined a phrase, didn't you? "Don't fire until you smell the age of their Bree!" wasn't it?
The saying I take pride in creating... is "If they were all laid end to end, I'd die an exhausted but happy man!"
Well Bender, I was a bit worried to see all those injuries when we played Detroit. However, Green Bay does have some depth. Mike McCarthy is a VREY smart coach and he will use it well...

D’oh! Spell check didn’t catch that!
Hmmm...a bit much for my bean to take in this morning. I’m starting to feel a bit of withdrawal knowing that the men in green don’t play tomorrow. At least I get to watch the Pats tear the skirts off the Eagles, seeing if they can beat the spread..what is it sixty points now? But even that’s not until Sunday night. Might have to resort to watching reruns of the 1966 and 1967 playoff games vs. dem Boys.
Well, if you get really bored... I can send you copies of the '93/'94 playoff games against Dallas or the '95 NFC Championship Game for ya! I also have a copy of Super Bowl XXXII with the Broncs if ya want it?
BTW Brett wasn't born when those '66/'67 games were played and in the 93-97 games, Tony Romo was a die hard, horny 13-17 year old Packer fan.
Funny how things... have changed, eh?
Yet I've turned into a fumbling... farty old fud!
Oh well, hell, big... have a breakfast beer and give Lil a morning hug.
