Public school officials appear to be wonderfully devoid of any knowledge of history that extends back before yesterday's headlines.
These people should be locked up for their own protection and some real human beings brought in to take their places.

Or any kind of common sense. It seems easier to suspend kids for nothings than to take the time to sit them down together and work things out. How they are handling situations like this are doing the kids a mis-service that only fosters racism and resentment toward each other.
Actually, it technical terms a noose can take many forms. A noose can be a simple noose for use in a snare trap, etc.
What I think you are referring to is a Hangman's Knot which traditionally, has 13 loops around its "neck" which makes a thicker know....which facilitates a quicker breaking of the condemned's neck on the gallows rather than strangulation.

Let’s see, anybody heard the song “Dang Me Oughta Take a Rope and Hang Me”, “The Old Home Town Looks the Same” Tom Jones singer. “Hangin Tree”, Marty Robbins. When I was a kid and we played cowboys a noose was part of our old west heritage and culture. It was something good guys used to give justice to cattle rustlers. I can remember metal lunch pails with western scenes which included a noose. I refuse to cave in and give up parts of my culture that another race wants to co-opt and brand as evil.
