I know you are correct but I think we interchange the words because we use the juice from the bird to make the dressing so we call it both although usually we call it dressing.

In fact, I’ll check with the wife to be sure but I don’t remember our making the distinction. She probably has and I never knew it. This is funny in a way. Of all the things we talk about this has never come up, until now.

Rudolph William Louis “Rudy” Giuliani

Not that he’s ever said it upsets him when spelled wrong.

I just try to remember the GIU and the rest seems to follow.

In my not so humble opinion, it was a scandal that the good admiral jumped on the ill-fated Ross Perot ship.

Ross Perot = Bill Clinton, once again, in my not so humble opinion.

In other words, the election of 1992 was Bill Clinton and Ross Perot versus Pres George H W Bush. Perot, like Bill Clinton, ran against Bush. He had little to say about Clinton. Clinton, of course, was smart enough to stay out of the line of fire, and concentrated on attacking Bush (it’s the economy, supid). And the driveby media ate it up, and topped out the pile-on. Bush was the enemy of all three camps. It’s no wonder he lost.

That Adm Stockdale dignified the whole nasty mess by joining up is what always puzzled me.

Did you see the interview w/carl levin? He asks him about the militray progress of the Surge and levin wouldn’t even answer the question. Goes immediately to the political and ignores the question completely and Wallace never calls him on it. He should have stopped him and said, what about the military improvement. Irritating.

They are walking around on patrol w/o body armor or helmets. The place is completely safe and the people are returning. Amazing story.

[Richardson] ... is such a disgrace to our state... I can’t even begin to describe it.

Well, if it's any comfort (which I admit it isn't ...), look at my state's howler, Arnold "Never Trust an Austrian" Schwarzenegger. The real disgrace is that I voted for him! *snort*

No wonder I'm kicking up conniption fits at the prospect of our free nation headed by The Ladies' Candidate Mitt or the metro-moderate Rudy. They say they're Republicans. Their lives say they're Liberals. Yes, Virginia, you can be both simultaneously. Look at my "governator," a proven brilliant businessman and entrepreneur (not just an actor), a successful individualist financially, an admirable guy in many ways. Yet he is enough of an arrogant maroon to embrace "global warming" as an urgent cause, and will no doubt concoct a scheme of state-wide health-care socialism of frightening complexity and control before his time is out. He can't help it -- he's a Liberal no matter how you slice him, we knew it when we elected him, but he seemed the best alternative to Cruz Bustamonte. About as much an alternative as either Rudy or Giuliani would be instead of Hillary.

Liberals are bad news no matter whether they've got an R or a D behind their name, but the Rs are worse in my opinion (after Arnold) because they deprive the future of this Republican Party to provide an antidote to Liberalism.

This primary will be won by one of three men: Thompson, Romney, or Giuliani. I'm making my choice with confidence and care.

Thank you for saying this. Me too.

What is most amazing is George Washington had to deal with the same mentality of cut-and-run, cave-to-the-English, and it seems not much has changed. And, Lincoln had a similar contingency, meaning peace at any cost. Thank God neither followed this bad advice.

Needless to say, conservatives have a never ending task of educating voters. This is, without a doubt, the hardest aspect we have next year. We MUST spread the word and educate voters. Single issue voters are okay but our job is to educate and teach concertive principles to everyone we know or meet.

Ooops ... my #406 SHOULD have said:

--- ... we elected him, but he seemed the best alternative to Cruz Bustamonte. About as much an alternative as either Romney or Giuliani would be instead of Hillary. ----

Sorry! MR and RG strike me as simply two sides to the same coin, so it's easy for me to get the names jumbled!

Doesn't matter if Law and Order was owned by NBC, NBC broadcast it. It is my understanding that if Fred were to have announced earlier in the year, NBC would either have had to stop running the re-runs from this most recent season, or give all the other candidates equal time. This doesn't apply to the programs in syndication, because they aren't considered 'current'. If they had stopped showing the re-runs, all the actors, and other associated with the show would have been denied the residuals they usually get when the show is run.

Fred entered the race at the time that was typical, until the last couple of races, and especially this one. It seemed some folks announced immediately after the 2006 elections. I don't know about you, but two years is WAY too long!

Wallace is a lousy interviewer. All he wants is to argue not discuss Fred Thompson’s opinion / platform.

“Wallace is a lousy interviewer. All he wants is to argue not discuss Fred Thompson’s opinion / platform.”

I just finished watching Fred do a great job answering all the questions Chris Wallace asked. Fred took control and did not let Chris get away with anything! Who says Fred does not have the “fire in the belly”? He has it, he has had it from the very beginning, and when needed the fire comes out in a very strong, consistant, and gentlemanly way! GO FRED!

The folks who actually saw the interview know that everything Fred said was the truth! And Chris knows it too as he replied: Well, Senator, I’m glad I asked the question because I got a heck of an answer!” GO FRED!

The puff piece features in the lifestyle magazines, the occasional ‘day with the president’ on one of the network news magazine shows, that almost any serious magazine, newspaper, or TV network would jump at a one-on-one interview. That the various cable news networks would cover pretty much any well-timed addresses or press conferences. All the Internet coverage of any presser or address. There are all kinds of opportunities at all levels of gravitas.

I agree that Fred can reach people on the immigration issue. He does not have a history of being a xenophobe, nor has he been railing about the issue. He’s simply stated the facts, and suggested some practical ways to go about solving the problem. He’s also made it clear, from the get go that he is FOR legal immigration. He knows that part of our strength as a country is in folks who have come here to start a new life as AMERICANS. They may still hold to some of the customs of their home countries, but they have relinquished loyalty to it in favor of the one country they knew would allow them the opportunity to work hard and prosper in freedom.
