I believe human life begins at conception and that abortion is the taking of a human life. However, it doesn't matter what I believe. The law is the law. My pro-life position doesn't help me get Roe v Wade abolished or get a HLA added to the Constitution.

As far as I know, there isn't one justice --- except maybe for J. Thomas --- who believes the 14th amendment to the Constitution applies to the unborn fetus.

>>>>>I've been as clear as can be.

Your remarks have been ambiguous on the abortion issue concerning Roe v Wade and a HLA. You just want to be able to bash people who disagree with you about what is written and not written in the Constitution. Your holier then thou attitude has been noted before.

Btw, whats with all the posts? Can't you say what you want to say in one post?

It is incapable of life apart from the mother’s body.

Your one year-old is incapable of life apart from the shelter of your home, and the food you put into his belly. Do you therefore think you have the right to kill him or her?

It has no thoughts or organs.

What a scientifically and morally moronic thing to say.

And while scripture addresses life within the womb, I must have missed the passage where it specifies the time.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you..." - God

(Jeremiah 1:5)

It is hard for me to imagine how I could have been more clear and consistent on this most important of matters.

Maybe you're just confusing yourself with your own ambiguities, and the twists and turns of how you constantly try to misrepresent what I have to say.

Again. If you favor overturning Roe v Wade and sending it back to the states, along with support for a HLA, then you’re contradicting what you believe the Constitution says on the abortion issue. You can’t have it both ways. That makes you a hypocrite.

A fertilized egg only has a few cells. No, it has no organs, no brain - hence, no thoughts. NOT moronic.

A year old child can be raised by other people - as can, in many cases, a fetus delivered in the last trimester. I would gladly argue to require any fetus with the possibility of surviving be delivered, and make abortion in those cases premeditated murder. Before that, I’m not so certain. And where I am not certain, my dislike for government would make it a personal choice.

And your scripture quote, carried to its logical conclusion, suggests life begins before conception. This would lead to the murder of any woman before menopause to be mass murder. Poetry is a poor basis for law.

I seriously doubt that you don’t know my position. I think you’re just maliciously lying now.

I thought perhaps your bringing up scripture was nothing more than a dodge.

Now you’re changing the subject, as is the wont of all defenders of baby-killing.

You were arguing for the right to kill babies based on their dependency. Now you’re arguing something else.

Debating with people like you is like trying to juggle jellyfish.

Can you name me one person you have ever met, or one person in the entire world for that matter, who was not at one point in their development as human beings a "fertilized egg"?

Fact is, at the moment of fertilization, the cells begin to divide, and a new, unique individual...unique in the history of the world, by the way...exists.

And your scripture quote, carried to its logical conclusion, suggests life begins before conception.

In God's view, it does, as this scripture asserts. He conceives each new life before it is actually published in the womb. That's why we call Him "the Author of Life."

But, from a physical standpoint, we, by the means with which we govern ourselves, only have to worry about what happens after the moment of fertilization. After all, the Planned Barrenhood ghouls, whom you support with your pro-death rhetoric, can't get at them before that.

So I take it that the Immigration and Taxes issues are rather meaningless to you?

They are not meaningless to me. If they were Huckabee would be my first choice. I don’t want to choose between social and fiscal conservatism. I want both. Since that doesn’t seem to be in the offering to my satisfaction except in Hunter, then I am forced to order my list of candidates according to what they offer. Don’t blame me for the choices. And don’t expect me to place fiscal conservatism before social conservatism. I think one is not really possible without the other, but forced to choose, I pick social conservatism. Nothing you can say will change my mind.

dano1 - always quick to copy/paste pro-Huckabee propaganda from Huckabee’s web site...

In this case, I have actually agreed with Huckabee on abortion. For him to now be wavering towards Thompson’s position relegating the issue to the states seems to be a cave-in.

If any other issue is Constitutional and FEDERAL - it is the sanctity of life.

Scripture is meant to be read by adults. Poetry is poetry, not a legal treatise. It is certainly NOT a dodge to expect scripture to be interpreted the way an adult interprets something, rather than assuming God looks like Big Bird -

Psalm 91:4(ESV) “He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge”

I just learned that one myself while reading one of my mother-in-laws books while on the throne. Couldn’t find anything else to read.

I think Planned Parenthood would be appalled at my position (mandatory delivery when possible...around 20 weeks), with premeditated murder charges against violators.

Your "position" is just as arbitrary, and morally reprehensible, as theirs.
