I think you have just captured the feelings of a large majority of us. Please, somebody, anybody, tell me why, in the twenty-first century, we are still dealing with this reality of making our choice from a MSM selected slate? There were ten “official” candidates- FDT sort of pushed by the electorate, the rest all selected by the media. Does anybody else see a problem here? Shouldn’t WE have more of a say in this process? I think that there is great dis-satisfaction with the slate. I don’t know what to suggest.
There are plenty of good people who could run for President if a lot of regular people would rally behind a good candidate and contribute the money he would need to win the nomination.
Americans hate politicians and are cynically suspicious of anyone who EVEN RUNS for office.
When I ran for congress a few years ago in the primary as an unknown, I had people ask me if I was a crook. When I answered, "No," they would say, "Well, you'll become one."
Further, many believe a good person can do nothing to fix the country's problems because things are so out of hand.
Most voters and the media simply have no respect for a candidate who does not arrive on the scene with plenty of money and support already behind him.
Add to that the simple truth the best people for the job have no interest in the suffering the slanderous nastiness they would endure in the process of seeking the job.
