Fact is the data doesn`t lie, sales are up and the dominant media, as usual, got it wrong.
They failed in their doom and gloom propaganda in regards to Iraq ans the nation building taking place there so now they`ve taken their propaganda war directly to the US economy. After all, there`s an election coming.
It isn't the issue of whether it gets paid back, it would be the fact that consumers are taking on more debt. Essentially doing the same thing we curse the Federal Government for dozens of times a day on here. If even 1/2 of the quantity is being charged, it means the consumer is getting 5 billion of "stuff", but paying what 2 or 3 times that for it in the long run.
It's not gloom and doom, it's people spending money they don't have.
