BEIJING: French president Nicolas Sarkozy and Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao will be working on a major trade-off that sources say might see France make significant security concessions to Beijing and elevate its status as a responsible military power.

On the cards are business deals worth $10 billion that China is expected to offer the new French president. In return, the Chinese leadership will persuade Sarkozy to apply greater pressure on the European Union (EU) to lift its arms embargo on Chin

Money talks.

China has quite an impressive amount of it too, now, and is not shy about spreading it around when they want something.

Just caught the front page of a fish wrapper here in asia and it had 30 billion dollars in deals made on french visit. Just a couple of bucks more than the 10 billion this article reads.

The truly sad thing is that we have no room to talk. We have gifted China with the secrets of the rhelm. How can we damn France for doing the same thing?

The west is in the throws of a death-spiral and all we can hope for is that it wakes up before impact.

China’s leaders must actually need surgery for the gutts busted when laughing at our incompetence over a cool beer under Mao’s picture.

Never in the history of the world, has a group of people made such a colossal mistake as what is being made right now on our behalf. (scratch that, on their greedy financial behalf)

I see people who immediately blame Clinton for the China mess all the time and that’s fine but they need to acknowledge that the GOP is continuing the same policies. It’s a result of blind greed and it’s the same reason for our border situation.

Personally I couldn’t care less about the money made off China or illegal alien labor. The security and integrity of the nation are the absolute most important thing.

True, really would only matter if I was making a commission off the amount of the deal.

What you said. Exactly! I love to see others embrace truth. Good on you, and I’m not being flippant. Take care.
