“We apologize to you for eradicating our (together with the Jews) centuries-long presence in the Arabian Peninsula as the only high tech educated civilization that region ever knew until reimporting it from the West in the late 19th century. We’re SOOOO sorry our mere presence and refusal to convert provoked feelings of genocide within you. We’re even more sorry that you acted on your intolerant rages and carried it out.”
Sadly these folks are just too blind to see.
Thanks.
[While the following thread is not the letter itself, it does talk about it.]
Why Benedict XVI Is So Cautious with the Letter of the 138 Muslims
"The letter from the 138 Muslims addressed last month to Benedict XVI and to the heads of the other Christian churches received a spectacular collective reply in a message signed by 300 scholars and published in "The New York Times" on November 18."
And when is the Marine Corps going to apologize for the Battle of Tripoli? LOL
I looked through the list of names....
Far as I can tell, there ain’t a SOUTHERN BAPTIST among the bunch!
I feel better, now.
Ironic, at a time when the fastest growing churches are those churches that are faithful the Bible and do not compromise with the world.
just amazing, they still want to kill us. lol, christian leaders are ignorant.

Useful idiots alert.
God’s punishment was being bestowed upon the Israelites for sins Daniel and the others had been committing (”All Israel has transgressed your law and turned away, refusing to obey you.”—Daniel 9:11). Daniel, in his unique leadership position, was explicitly made responsible for the people he represented before God, the Israelites.
There is no person on earth who represents and is held accountable for God’s people who are Christians. As you can tell, there are over 100 people who, at the most, can only represent themselves and the congregations they lead. They can’t represent people for the following:
“...we want to begin by acknowledging that in the past (e.g. in the Crusades) and in the present (e.g. in excesses of the war on terror) many Christians have been guilty of sinning against our Muslim neighbours. Before we shake your hand in responding to your letter, we ask forgiveness of the All-Merciful One and of the Muslim community around the world.”
These people have no authority to ask for forgiveness of the sins other people did before them.
How about asking for St. Sophia back?
Then we can talk.
The only problem with the Crusuades as far as I’m concerned, is they left the field of battle before they had fully destroyed the enemy.
Hmmm...
Warrren, Hybels, and Schuller.
The Chaff is fairly jumping off the wheat.
You cannot compromise with satan. Alah=satan.
So essentially, its contents are secret to the general public? How did these “leaders” see it?
Forgivness is seen as weakness in the Muslim world.
No shock that someone (one only?) from the “Evangelical Lutheran Church in America” is on there. Also a Lutheran Seminary, but I don’t know its affiliation. No outright mention of the old Lutheran churches.
Plus the Muslim leaders are using these minor Christian leaders to try to do a divide and conquer of both the west and the Christians, since they know that the major leaders, such as Pope Benedict XVI and the Orthodox are praying and working for Christian unity and to make the Christian Church stronger.
