What has light to do with darkness but to dispell it?
Actually, it is scriptural. Daniel 9 is the most often referenced example.
I have to admit, I get resentful and tired of doing it, especially when I haven't personally prepared for it by doing the historical research. But it is scriptural, and it does break the enemy's power and open doors to reconciliation- which is where the Holy Spirit shows up and reveals Jesus to people that don't know Him.
It may not have much of a political effect, but it's spiritually very potent in the lives of individuals- some of whom may be politicians.
What they meant to say is, “Forgive us for being Christians, we really aren’t.”
This is a modern version of Liberation Theology, the pro marxist “Christian” philosophy of the latter 20th Century.
Its good to present this list to the peaceful Muslims. Its a road map for the first head chopping if the religon of peace wins the war on terror.
The Christian leaders in this group are of a more progressive or liberal type, no conserivitive or traditional Christian leaders in this group.
It ain’t signatures, but it’s a copy of the ad run in the NYT on 18 Nov 07: http://www.acommonword.com/lib/downloads/fullpageadbold18.pdf

You be velly funny!!!
WHAT!
I don't see a problem with this as long as no one expects forgiveness to be given by the Muzzies or for it to be asked for in return.
I would agree that asking the Muzzies for forgiveness is pointless, but I don't see how it proves anything about the faith of those asking.
“an open letter in October signed by 138 leading Muslim scholars, clerics, and intellectuals”
What was THIS “LETTER” from the Moslems (which the article claims no such thing happened before Christians composed this, but obviously wrong).
Show me from scripture how you arrived at this conclusion. (Hint: You can't.)
Yes. I really don’t want to hear about the eeeevil Crusades any more.
Besides all that, why doesn’t anyone question why Moslems thought they could take over Jewish/Christian holy land any way? Apparently it’s a given that Moslems “owned” that little area called Jerusalem, even if they didn’t even exist until late in the game, well after Jews were there.
Any thoughtful person who knows history and religion would be anti-Islam. Along with Communism, Naziism, and the Black Death, Islam has been responsible for more death and destruction on the face of the planet than just about anything else since the last asteroid impact. Islam was started by predators. It has spread by predation. It has lived off the decaying corpses of the civilizations it has destroyed. It is a vast, ancient sea of corruption, oppression, fanaticism, and ignorance lapping up against the shores of the present, kept alive by the fortuitous accident of living above huge reserves of petroleum.
The Moslems based this “ownership” of Jerusalem on a dream that Mohammed had about a night visit on a horse.
Theological and cultural suicide.
The MUzzies are laughing up their burnooses at such credible idiots.
Also a britle man-made religion that threatens not only non-Muslims but any Muslim who questions or LEAVES this cult-like religion.
Ah...did they just take a vow to Allah and submit to the Muslim community?
Funny I don't see Allah as being the same as the God of the New Testament.
