Releases Contact: Brendan Daly/Nadeam Elshami 202-226-7616 For Immediate Release 11/26/2007 Pelosi: Just As Al Gore Changed Global Warming Debate, Congress Must Now Act on Energy Policy

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement after a White House ceremony today honoring former Vice President Al Gore and other American winners of the Nobel Prize:

“Vice President Al Gore, along with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, has awakened the world, and particularly young people, to the enormous and looming threat of the climate crisis and the need for immediate action.

“Congress is now moving forward with historic energy legislation that will reduce our dependence on foreign fuels and promote energy efficiency. We have made significant progress toward completing this package and hope to have a final agreement next week. This energy package will lay the groundwork for the Congress to move forward next year with comprehensive action to address climate change. It is also incumbent on the Bush Administration, after years of resistance, to become a leader in the global effort to reduce climate change. We owe it to our children and to the future to act now.

“I again congratulate Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change on their winning the Nobel Peace Prize, which is a culmination of decades of dedication and perseverance. Just as Al Gore tirelessly fought to change the global warming debate, Congress must now act to change America’s energy policy and begin to halt climate change.”

Great. How about starting with oil drilling in our own country or more nuclear power.

“Congress must now act to change America’s energy policy and begin to halt climate change.”

Right after we destroy the universe by looking at it, of course.

Want an energy policy that works? Just set a goal of achieving 80% of our electric power from nuclear. France does and has had zero deaths or injuries.

Once that is in the works, watch oil start to drop. Then as it drops do one more thing—switch the East Coast to natural gas and then open up drilling in Anwar and the Gulf.

The only reason we have the problems we do is the earth worshipers a.k.a. as environmentalists have established a preeminent position in the RAT party. The result is no one contradicts the earth worshipers theology.

IPCC credibility world-wide is fading fast. Woe to the politician who spends one dime of taxpayer money to assist this cause and is still in office when the whole notion of man-made global warming goes belly-up.

Here's Nan's so-called "Energy Policy":

Conservatives, Christians, America-loving patriots, Republicans: wear coats, live by candlelight, recycle your own waste water, and walk everywhere you go.

Everyone else (i.e. Liberals): SUVs, 50,000 square-foot houses, private jets, ad nauseaum.

Can the party who’s been blocking an energy policy for 30 years now “provide the necessary leadership?” I don’t think so.

OMG where was the Barf warning!?

If it has "Pelosi" in the headline, it doesn't need a barf alert.
