MS-13?
No such place. I suspect you mean Greenspoint (aka Gunspoint) Mall. So this is not necessarily terrorist related.
Global Warming Climate Change ... affects the sinus ...tightens the headbone thingie .....
So I gather. Looks like a shooting there barely qualifies as news.
This one looks to be over. Mod: Looks like this isn’t breaking news anymore.
Trampede!
It’s always those Salvadorian immigrants.
I hope all is well at Greenspoint. I did my outprocessing there to come over here the very first time. Did it in December '03.
I know they still do that there and I hope this shooting is not connected to that.
Doubtful. Sounds more like a gang related shooting.
This is why I no longer go to malls, I strictly go to open shopping centers now.
I’m betting that mall prohibits handguns.
Apparently there was a 911 call to report a burglary, and the caller said something about being “about to be harmed...” and the operator heard gunshot(s).
but... but... then how could this have happened? :-)
Heh. I bet they have a big sign and everything.
Crime happens daily at Gunspoint Mall as we call it here in Houston, better known as CWOC, (City Without Cops); and during the Holiday Season? Hah! I’m surprised they covered it at all and they wouldn’t have done unless it was truly flashy and a slow news day. For years the local and only newspaper, the Houston Comical, along with the major T.V. outlets, ABC/NBC & CBS have deferred to the interests of the Gunspoint Chamber of Commerce and censored any crime news coming out of the area.
Not a terrorist alert; just more of the usual murder and mayhem.
Greenspoint Mall evacuated during SWAT standoff
11:07 AM CST on Tuesday, November 27, 2007By Taylor Timmins / KHOU.com
Holiday shopping took a terrifying turn Tuesday as an HPD SWAT situation developed at Greenspoint Mall.
The entire mall was evacuated as a result of the incident.
According to the Greenspoint Management District, the situation started when the boyfriend of a female mall employee called, threatening to harm her.
The woman, who worked at Body Luxuries, called mall security, but her boyfriend arrived before security could get there.
He then pulled the gate down over the front of the shop, barricading them both inside.
Witnesses reported hearing two gunshots.
It was unclear if anyone was injured.
There are more shots fired in that mall’s area then in the nationa forest on the opening day of deer season.
No, sir. Dollars to donuts it's a gang thing -- I'll even go so far as to predict a "Katrina Refugee" tie-in.
The reply from us Houstonians is hilarious: Gun fire at Greenspoint? Hot weather during the Summer? Traffic during rush hour? So what else is new .
That's my first guess....
actually when I lived there we called it Gunpoint Mall....
