"..never proved fake..."

Sure, Dan. Whatever you say.

The crazy thing is, Dan Rather could have got away with these false accusations and forged documents 20 years ago, before the internet and blogosphere came into prominence.

The Bush Administration gave him enough rope to hang himself by refusing to comment on Burkett’s baloney - and Rather is still swinging from the rafters.

He can’t get away with his sham, liberal, biased, journalistic nonsense anymore - and he still refuses to admit that he was wrong and believed a lie.

How sad.

Apt analogy.

“...crumpled icon of a fading era, courting madness in the twilight of public life.”

That, my friends, is great writing.

Rather had always believed that the arguments regarding typeface were merely a right-wing distraction . . .

Good God, Mr. Rather. Facts can be so inconvenient, can't they?

That leaves Rather twisting in the wind for now, a bit desperate for more information that will help him connect the dots. “If anybody knows anything,” he says, “now’s the time for them to come forward. If Burkett’s got something, now’s the time.” He repeats the phrase, looking for the right emphasis. “Now is the time. Now is the time.”

Words fail to express my savage glee at this pathetic spectacle. I wish I were there, so I could point and laugh at the old fool spinning his wild theories on a city park bench, mocking and ridiculing him to his face. What a deluded nincompoop.

And oh, my, what a turd in Big Media's punch bowl this has all been. If nothing else, it has helped a few of the sheep that were placidly grazing on the Gramscian media establishment's lies and distortions begin to see the light. I haven't watched an entire Big 3 network newscast in years, and most likely never will see the mendacious Marxist termites again as long as I live.

What's the frequency, Dan, you lying sack of dung? Choke on your confabulations, you worthless heap of filth!

Mapes was “on” the W story for the better part of 20 years and never could get it to stick. This began long before John F’n Carry came into the picture.

Twenty years ago W. was a hard-drinking oil company executive whose dad was VP. He wasn't yet governor of Texas, and in fact had not even joined the Rangers baseball club at that point. If the Mapes bimbo was on his tail then, she's a stalker, not a reporter.

If the story was Kerry, why would they go after Bush? Of course, I know the answer.

When I read the excerpt you used in your post the light bulb lit above my head. The entire Mapes/Rather memo fraud was a scheme to take the heat off of Kerry's military record. SeeBS knew there was truth to the swiftboat vets claims so they had to run some interference to drown them out.

Remember that Mapes called a member of Kerry's campaign before the story aired.

As a former Guardsman, I always thought the story was silly. Gaps in service happen all the time in the Guard, especially when someone’s day job requires time away from the home drilling station. It’s no big deal — certainly not enough to be considered AWOL by any stretch.

Rather’s last as anchor of the CBS Evening News, he wore a T-shirt under his suit and tie that read F.E.A.—“Fuck ’em all.”

The perfect ending for mad Dan Rather.

How can a network not officially owned by the government be so much under control of Democrats? Why is there no unabashed Republican Network? FOX is even too “balanced” toward the Left.

CBS using the old nuts and sluts defense against Dan seems so hypocritical after all Dan did for CBS. CBS has survived and Dan has not, so I’m hoping Dan can really embarass CBS and bring them down. He’s certainly got the evidence.

Kerry was the most openly arrogant Presidential candidate I have ever seen. Interesting that Bush scored higher on his College Boards than Kerry. When confronted on this , Kerry said something like he’d gotten drunk the night before. That’s his defense against Bush? Of course the LSM didn’t report it, it was alternative sources that did.

LOL! This is about one step above hiding from black helicopters and believing that fluoridation is a Communist plot.

It is not secret that he was never popular at CBS. As an anecdote I recall when he made a visit to the broadcoast booth for Monday Night football. He seemed like a regular joe. But what struck me was that after he left, one of the broadcasters—can’t remember who—made a comment with some wonderment in his voice. If he ALWAYS like this, instead of so distant, then...At that point the other broadcaster cut him off. Anyway the reaction of the “60 minutes: crew to his going seeemed typical: don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Shades of Westmoreland vs. CBS.

The guy has tons of money. He should gracefully slither off toward the sunset and let the nation move on. Evidently CBS felt the same way.

Thanks for the comments. That booth incident sounds as if brutal.

DAN THE FORGER!

Perhaps we should look further into your brief stay with the United States Marines.

One suspects that the rejection of you by the Marines explains, at least partially, why you are so anti-American and anti-military.

BTW, you will always, always, ALWAYS be the disgraced DAN THE FORGER. Nothing you have ever done can eclipse your transparent attempt to sway a United States Election with provably forged documents.

Nothing.

One aspect not often discussed is W’s fighter jet was being phased out. I think it was an F 101 or F 100. To move into a new airplane would have meant several years of additional training, which would have greatly exceeded his time left in the guard.

He's recalling January 10, 2005, when he first received the 224-page report commissioned by CBS that excoriated his infamous 60 Minutes Wednesday segment on President Bush's National Guard service.
Welcome to the club, Dan. ;')
