(Cook County) Commissioner At Meeting: Peraica Hates Black People

CHICAGO - Tax hikes, proposed clinic closings and claims of racism plagued a Cook County Board meeting on Tuesday. Commissioner William Beavers charges white members of the board are ganging up on president Todd Stroger to block his agenda. "If this was a white man in power right now, they wouldn't be fighting (Stroger) like this," Beavers said, raising his racial conspiracy theory at a seemingly pointless county finance committee meeting where commissioners grew testy and interrupted each other. Beavers claimed that Tony Peraica hates all black people, saying, "All black elected officials he hates -- he don't like 'em." Peraica said he was appalled by those comments. "This is not personal -- this is about doing what is best for the taxpayers of Cook County," Peraica said. Beavers suggested commissioners Peraica and Forrest Claypool are just holding out to take Stroger's job. "They're never going to be president of the County Board because they don't have the votes," said Beavers. But attendees at the meeting conceded the votes aren't there for Stroger's massive plan to raise millions of dollars through new taxes. "Commissioners are afraid to ask the voters for more money but government runs on money," Stroger said. Republican commissioners have a plan of their own, suggesting 7 percent cuts in every department and closing the county's 15 community-based health clinics, contending those closings alone would save some $32 million. "If we're not going to cut these types of costs, what are we going to cut? Are we going to close the jail?" said Republican Commissioner Peter Silvestri. Stroger contends the county faces a $239 million shortfall, but Peraica said he doesn't believe that number. The County Board is supposed to meet on Friday but it doesn't look like they'll have an agreement anytime soon.

Aside from the obvious Chicago jive about the race card dropping like an elephant turd, watch for Claypool. He's a good guy as in good government for the fair price.

It’s worth noting that Commissioner Tony Peraica was almost elected Cook County Chairman recently, running far ahead of the Republican vote. So IMHO this is a calculated effort to damage him as a candidate in future elections.

Beavers is an A$$. He said on the radio that Peraica beat up black kids when he was young. If I were Peraica, I would call him out on that lie.

IL is facing a budget shortfall much like Jersey. Blago can’t find the money to fund public transportion in Chicago. Yet, he can find money to fund stem cell research and health care insurance for the poor.

I said on the other thread that Beavers has a point . . . Mayor Daley has no trouble at all raising taxes, and he’s white.

Some people can’t get it though their thick skulls that raising taxes has a largely negative effect. I’d say if property tax increases, property value will go down and the able residents will move away.

Isaac Newton said it best, “For every action there is a direct opposite reaction."

"Commissioners are afraid to ask the voters for more money but government runs on money,"

...And that's precisely why government is NOT our friend.

yeah right. We have a white county executive and a bunch of black supervisors who constantly try to block his cost saving budgets every chance they get.

Forrest Claypool is the most dangerous man in Chicago. He does not deserve to be dog cather.
After voting for Illinois to become Americas fisrt Sanctuary County, he then goes on the radio to say that illegal aliens who are costing our health care system to collaspe...(just like everywhere else in the country)the illegals are not costing Illinois any money.

Of course FAIR came out saying illegal aliens cost Illinois taxpayers 3.5 billion dollars a year!

I have contacted his office 5 times and they will not return my calls or e-mails.

I have simply stated that he is my Commishinor and I want to talk with him for 5 minutes about concerns in the district. NO REPLY.

TAXATION without representation!!
