De-Albanizing Muslim Terrorists: Ft. Dix Redux
Chronicles ^ | 11/27/07 | Srdja Trifkovic

Posted on 11/28/2007 12:16:11 AM PST by Bokababe

Three of the five men charged with plotting an attack on Fort Dix last spring have asked a judge to move them from a secluded part of their prison as they await trial, a youthful-sounding female NPR reporter told us on Monday night. She added that, in legal filings over the past week, the men complained that in the Special Housing Unit of the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia they are not being given “adequate access” to the government’s evidence in their case. From her two-minute “featurette” and a few dozen similarly worded agency reports in the “Mainstream Media” you’d never guess that those “men” were Albanian Muslims from Kosovo and Macedonia illegally residing in the U.S., or that they were plotting to murder as many American servicemen as they could get into the sights of their automatic weapons.

Welcome to post-modern, self-hating and terrorist-abating American journalism: Your favorite Gannett daily paper/TV news channel/Web site will tell you that “the men, all foreign-born and in their 20s, were charged in May with planning a raid on Fort Dix. They face life in prison if they’re convicted of conspiring to murder military personnel.” It’s a bit—no, it’s totally—like saying that “19 foreign-born men in their 20s died carrying out 9-11 attacks.”

Hmm...it seems like it ought to be “de-Albanianize”
(one would write “de-Americanize,” not “de-Americize”)
“Albus” is Latin for “white” though. Maybe what is meant is “de-caucasianize?”

Not being given adequate access because they are being housed on a remote part of the post? What...no phone? No way for their (free?) legal counsel to get to them? Some sort of worm-hole in the way? Big swamp?
I spent some time at Ft Dix when in the Army. It does have some remote areas; but, none of them are inaccessible.
Sounds like terrorist whining, to me.

Yes, there was also that Kosovo Albanian whose al-Qaeda application was discovered in Afghanistan, to name just one of many such characters: “It’s called Balkan blowback, and it’s been happening since we stuck our nose where it didn’t belong throughout the 1990s and, for good measure, bombed the wrong side.”

"Hmm...it seems like it ought to be “de-Albanianize”"...“Albus” is Latin for “white” though. Maybe what is meant is “de-caucasianize?”

Trifkovic has a rather amazing command of languages and I think that he intended the double-entendre for those who got it. On one hand Trifkovic refers to the media's unwillingness to identify "Kosovo Albanians" as who and what they were -- hence, as you put it, "de-Albanianizing". But the name "Albin" also comes from the Latin and means "Fair". So on the other hand it refers to "removing the whitewash from Kosovo Albanian crimes". He used "Alban", instead of "Albin", as away of linking the two, Albanian and Albin.

Trifkovic is really a brilliant writer, but his books are for well-educated, smart people and as a result, they haven't sold as well as they should. So, of late, he has taken to more of the double-entendre: if someone is moderately smart and educated they "get it" and if they are really bright, he gives you a double-whammy of "getting it". Personally, I like this new style because, it demands more of him as a writer than it does of the reader -- and he does deliver.

Yes, there was also that Kosovo Albanian whose al-Qaeda application was discovered in Afghanistan:

"Perhaps most telling about the minds of those who trained here is a document found at the camp. "I am interested in suicide operations," wrote Damir Bajrami, a 24-year-old ethnic Albanian from Kosovo, on his entry application in April 2001. "I have Kosovo Liberation Army combat experience against Serb and American forces. I need no further training. I recommend (suicide) operations against (amusement) parks like Disney."

Oh, my goodness, I hadn’t seen that. People better start paying attention. It’s really sad. For the 10 years I’ve been posting here, Kosovo/albanian threads get single digit notice or posts.

"Kosovo/albanian threads get single digit notice or posts."

As they say, "The Devil is in the Details" -- but few people have the patience to understand "the details" until it is too late.
