Global Warming Shakedown Begins

Climate Change: Al Gore was smiling like the proverbial cat that ate the canary following his 45-minute talk Monday with President Bush. Does he know something about U.S. global warming policy we don't?

We hope that's not the case. The two men refused to talk about details of their conversation. But Bush is preparing for a global conference next week in Bali, Indonesia, and we'd like to think he isn't still swallowing Gore's line about taking drastic action to curb greenhouse gases.

"It was a private conversation," Gore said after the meeting. "Of course we talked about global warming . . . the whole time."

As news accounts note, Gore was instrumental as vice president in negotiating the 1997 Kyoto Accord. But President Clinton never submitted the treaty to Congress, and Bush has steadfastly opposed costly green mandates in favor of voluntary caps on CO2 emissions.

So was Bush just being polite to his one-time political rival? Again, we hope so. But who can be sure in an atmosphere where the nonstop propaganda on global warming has become almost intolerable.

Just listen to the United Nations, which released a green-themed Human Development Report just one week before the Bali meeting. "Unless the international community agrees to cut carbon emissions by half over the next generation," the report says (according to Reuters), "climate change is likely to cause large-scale human and economic setbacks and irreversible catastrophes."

If that sounds terrifying, it's meant to. But there isn't a shred of science to back it up — only spurious "models" based on an incomplete picture of how nature and the climate work.

Mother taught me to say nothing if I couldn’t say something nice............Bush is in that category with GW/CC plus he is a gentleman. My parents also taught me honesty was a winner - so with that in mind a Bronx Cheer for our lame-brained ex-VP who is making out like a bandit selling Carbon Credits!

Too bad he won’t respond to his detractors in kind.

NEWSWEEK: AL GORE NOW WORTH MORE THAN $100 MILLION

[Since 2000, according to published reports, the former veep has transformed himself from a public servant with around $1 million in the bank to a sparkling private consultant with a net worth estimated to be north of $100 million. Clinton never formally submitted the Treaty to Congress:
1) as a disrespect to his own team that helped negotiate it, most prominently, Algore, and
2) out of fear of damaging his own legacy after the Senate voted 95-0 as an indication they would overwhelmingly reject the Kyoto Treaty on any formal vote.

For literally all intents and purposes, the Senate rejected the Kyoto Treaty.

We're sooo lucky to have the UN and Democrats around to solve this global warming thingy. Who could have predicted the "scientific" solution to global warming is restrict economic growth, regulate business and raise taxes???

Is it a coincidence that this is their remedy for every problem. Naaahhhh. Couldn't be. This is "science."

So true. I was at a fishing seminar and the speaker related the tides, the weather and how the fish were biting to---globull warming!

I was watching the local news this summer and the coach of the Tampa Bay Bucs, John Gruden remarked how hot it was "due to global warming." He was not kidding.

It's the old 'if-you-tell-a-lie-often-enough' it'll be true propaganda technique and our society thinks it's "Settled Science."

They are coming at us from all sides now. The liberal hoards are like a tidal wave on the world and we certainly will all drown. Hurry up Jesus.

Meanwhile, the REAL threat to the world is sitting back, watching us waste time and resources, waiting until we've bankrupted ourselves in the name of Junk Science. Then watch "the religion of peace" attack with both barrels a-blazing.

Think the bozos in the turbans give a rat's rear-end about greenhouse gases? They'll be just as happy to add to the earth's "fever" by dropping a nuke or two in Washington, London, New York, etc.

You need the (deliberate) compliance and cooperation of the multi-headed Medea to make the “big lie” work...

And the enviro’s have it. Hook, lie and sucker.
