Does the Vatican realize Jordan, not Israel, is the destination for this so-called ‘Right of Return’ to the Arab World?

“Vatican official backs right of return”

OK, lets see his position on compensation for all the Jews deported during the same period from every Muslim and Arab country in the Middle East. Maybe he’ll offer the Vatican’s own bank accounts to pay the descendants of those Jews for all the property they lost when they were forced out of countries they had lived in for centuries.

The not so funny thing is that all those Jews who were rounded up and deported from all over the Middle East were all resettled and assimilated in Israel, while “Palestinians” were perpetually housed as state-less refugees, where ever they took refuge, and intentionally NOT assimilated as members and citizens of the Arab nations they went to.

Cardinal Martino

Cardinal Martino

This jackass should come right out and say Israel must die and Muslims must triumph. But he's too cowardly

I am a Catholic and this appalls me beyond belief. He should have made it very clear that he was giving his own personal opinion and not speaking for the Holy See.

However, at the news conference, Monsignor Novatus Rugambwa, Martino's undersecretary, cited the Perugia slaying as an example of some of the dangers that can come with students living abroad.

"Many undergo a sort of culture shock and instability living in new countries, communities and academic worlds," he said, noting that new languages, religions, cultures as well as economic problems and severed links with family can contribute to the culture shock.

What in the world is this guy saying. That the british girl was murdered because she didn't want to engage in orgy sex, violent orgy sex at that, because she lacked a cultural understanding, ie. was in culture shock. Or is this guy talking about the actual killers.

Absolutely insulting and disgusting.

As far as "the right to return" for Palestinian refugees goes, only those that were actually "displaced" during the short wars fought between the two would have any justifiable claim to "return", not the children that have been born since. Or the grandchildren. Or the great-grandchildren.

Right of return to where? Yasser Arafat was born in Cairo, and the head of Hamas was born in Syria.

"Cardinal Renato Martino, head of the Vatican department that formulates refugee policy" is how he is described. I don't know how the Vatican works but I would think Martino is speaking in official capacity. His office handles refugees and that's what he spoke about, Palestinian refugees.
American Catholics are lots more sympathetic to Israel than are many Vatican officials who seem cold and uncaring which wouldn't be important except that this makes them de facto supporters of the Islamic Jihad against the Jews of Israel.
This is a which side are you on situation. The new Pope is very good and very skeptical of Islam. The Muslim pestilence has already subjected Pope Benedict to nasty vilification campaigns

Islamists believe in the “right of return” everywhere and, in the case of the Vatican, quislings like this Cardinal would be among the first to lose their heads in that case.

Cardinal Renato Martino can put his opinion where the sun doesn’t shine. I have zero respect for him or any of his ilk that think like he does. I could care less that he is a Vatican offical, if anything that is a negative not a positive.

Coward is right. He might as well say he hates Jews as far as I am concerned.
