I think it was a deliberate attempted hit on Duncan Hunter and it failed miserably. I suspect that General Festive and Hunter have had run ins before considering Hunter’s years on the armed services committee.
When his mike cut out, I really thought that Anderson would have a heart attack, trying to get the plant back on track.

If you’re right, somebody’s internals are showing Hunter with a little more strength than we’ve seen published. No point, otherwise.
I dunno. I’m still not buying the ‘plant’ bit yet. I may be overcome with obsessive open-mindedness, but didn’t CNN (which I am NOT a fan of) admit it was a mistake? If he was a plant, why admit it? They don’t really get anything positive from it, imo.
Considering that it was CNN, I didn’t think they really did a hatchet job tonight. I was almost impressed.

I think they all did reasonably well against planted questions!! Except Paul of course. It just made CNN look stupid.
I think they admited it was a mistake after Bennett spilled the beans, and they knew they were caught.
I don’t trust CNN, expecially after what they did with the plants at the Democrat debate.
Check the debate thread here, look at the time of the first revelation regarding this Keith Kerr, and then look at the time of CNN’s “admission.” It was a CYA mea culpa.

Did you notice on Drudge that they have a developing story. Glenn’s new book is #1 on the NYT’s bestseller list. I know it’s #1 on the new releases bestsellers on Amazon, but I don’t think the NYT’s list has been updated yet. It’s a fun book to read, we got it about a week ago and it’s very well done.
Well, we may disagree on the ‘plant’ business, but on the second part of your comment, I think we agree.
And, at the risk of getting flamed here, why should we care if he was a plant or not? The issue was raised and it was deftly answered. Because of how it was answered, we win.
They eventually did cut his mike. Then turned it back on.
That plant got potted.
