Thank you for the post, as it explains something that has been nagging at me for a couple of months.
A good friend now lives in NJ. She stopped by for a visit in September and at some point the conversation touched on the Newark playground murders of the Delaware students. My friend stated calmly that the story was not getting a lot of media play (granted she doesn’t live in Newark itself). I couldn’t understand that until I read your post.
I wish she would move out, but her work demands a base close to NYC.
1. The crime in question involved a terrible multiple-murder in which both the victims AND the perpetrators belonged to liberal "victim groups."
2. The crime occurred in the weeks leading up to the opening of Newark's new downtown sports arena -- the Prudential Center. I suspect the city of Newark was making every attempt to minimize any negative coverage of events in Newark that might chase prospective customers away from the new arena.
