WASHINGTON —  A key ally of Mike Huckabee that "went for broke" in the presidential primary campaign has ended up nearly there. But Americans for Fair Taxation says not to count it out just yet.

We’ve had some slim times in the past, but we keep at it," said AFFT spokesman Ken Hoagland. He said the organization is in the midst of “regrouping” after massive spending campaigns in Iowa and South Carolina, and has cut its central Houston staff from 25 to 10.

I guess they had one of their FairTax economists do their books for them.

We’re suppose to buy their plan for the economy when they can’t even plan their own finances?

Maybe I did not read or hear correctly but isn’t one of Preacher Huckabee’s promises is to get rid of the IRS? Now who is going to collect all those taxes to fund all these illegals he keeps inviting over to receive those taxes?

And he thinks he can get a 'federal' Congress to go along with this. Congress won't be allowing anyone else to have first hands in their power of the purse.

What did they expect? You can't expect people that want a free lunch will want to pay to get it.

What happened to the proceeds from Linder's and Boortz' #1 best seller book sales to promote the scam?

AFFT's non-profit and non-partisan designation means it cannot legally endorse or contribute to any candidate.

Hoagland said the group’s efforts in Iowa, including a ferris wheel, huge tent and a country western band, were aimed at promoting the fair tax among the Republican candidates and voters, not push a particular candidate.

What makes everyone connected with this scam seem so dense?

I believe it is a damaged gene... same one that causes ‘barking moonbats’ and 9/11 truthers.
