Yes. Keep in mind that the overall barrel length has not been sacrificed. The barrel has been simply moved rearward. The Military Channel did a program on this rifle a few months ago, and the accuracy was indeed equal to an M-16.

That would be ok. Then I would use the 12 gauage #00 to keep them from getting too pushy.
At 500 yards, an M-14 is a much more comfortable tool.

Of any issued rifle, would take the M-14 every time except in VERY VERY heavy brush, where I would go with the M-3 grease gun.
Of course, there is always the 280MM Grosse Kannon.!

I am an “old” arty guy. If I can see what I am shooting at, I an way too close to engauge.
I much perfer an old M 109 A3,155mm SELF propelled howitzer. When I was on active duty we had an M2 [.50 cal], M60 [7.62 (nato)] machine guns, a bunch of law anti tank weapons, claymore mines, + a lot of howitzer ammo & powder, the MARINES carried their own M16A1’s & the crew chief & myself [A-chief] also carried .45 Colts!
We could deliver a whole lot of hurt down range with out seeing what we were shooting at!

I got to try the tavor and it is as advertised....lite and accurate. My experience with it was dry and clean on a goobermint range vs mud and crap and a thousand rounds already through it..... The Jooose know what they are doing with regards to small arms etc etc ........good ideas incorporated .

BTW... *all* grunts wear the chinstrap now. The flak vests from 70s through 90s were camo. I agree there’s not enough crap hanging off the suspenders, and that he’s reasonably clean, but the shaving issue is enforced a LOT more than it used to be (kinda like the chinstrap).
Oh, and that thing under the carrying handle is the leaf sight for the M203.
