A couple of months ago I got a call from an NRA fundraiser, when she finished her shrill rant about Hillery I confronted her about HR 2640. She instantly went into attack mode, wanting to hear where I heard the rumors that HR 2640 was bad, then went into a major rant about how wonderful it was. I got short with her, then said don't ever call me again, and hung up.

Her instant switch to attack mode, and the prepared statement told me they had been getting quite a bit of grief about it. Since the NRA has become a fund raising operation the best way to get their attention is to dry up the money.

It seems like an exact rule which states the less a gun group has actually accomplished, the more they have to mention the NRA in their news alerts.
