Political frontrunners often get overly cautious. Not so for Iowa frontrunner Mike Huckabee, who is waiting just 24 hours to be a guest on radio shock jock Don Imus's new show.
Imus, who was forced to resign after referring to the Rutgers women's basketball team as a bunch of "nappy headed hos," starts his new nationally syndicated show on Monday on WABC-AM. On Tuesday morning, Huckabee appears as a guest.
According to Huckabee's schedule, he will do a telephone interview at 7:30 a.m. central time. He is spending Monday and Tuesday campaigning in Iowa, where a new Des Moines Register survey puts him ahead of former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney by five percentage points. The poll shows Huckabee with 29 percent support and Romney with 24 percent.

A Hasbeen meets a Nobody—compelling radio!
Hope he doesn’t call him a nappy-haired huckster and get in trouble first day. ;-)
Does Huck know that Imus has called the President and VP liars about WMD and war criminals? And has spent years undermining them, our troops and our missions?
Sickening.
I disagree about undermining the troops. Without Imus, Brooke Army Medical Center might still be in the building process. He also hammered every politician and reporter that appeared on his show about Walter Reed.
Ah, he’s back, good, so...when is Hillary scheduled?
GASBAG HUCK! GASBAG HUCK! GASBAG HUCK!
The flim flam Baptist man will do absolutely ANYTHING to be president.
I clicked on their “report offensive comments” link and said I was glad he was back and asked when could I expect Hillary to do a live interview? I wait for an answer...crickets et al...
Not to mention what it does to the American people’s resolve, when there own government Representatives appear on a “Tokyo Rose” show like Imus’.
He’s raised over $25,000,000 for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes fund and Brooke Army Medical Center. That is not someone who is undermining the troops.
“The Center for the Intrepid and the two new Fisher Houses will be operated by the Defense Department, but building them was purely a private endeavor. Radio-show host and contributor Don Imus helped raise the last 40 percent of the funds for the center by campaigning on his show for six weeks. Richard Santulli, chairman of the Fallen Heroes Fund, said, “That’s the American way, we don’t expect the government to address every need in our lives.” But some question why private funds were necessary. The Veterans Affairs department¹s budget has grown from $48 billion in fiscal year 2001 to $80 billion in 2007, and funding for veteran health care is up 70 percent since 2000. But the costs of the current conflicts are yet to be realized, even as the armed forces expand to cope with new threats and current burdens.”
I would say it’s 50/50 odds that Huckabee, being the enthusiastic smart-ass that he is, will make some kind of comment in which he works in the phrase ‘nappy headed’.
We’re headed for a John McCain-esque ‘I’m like Luke Skywalker’ kinda moment.
A bad wreck, we can’t help but watch/listen. LOL
He just lost that 10% black vote we usually get...
That doesn’t surprise me. What is surprising is that McCain wasn’t the first one, followed closely by John Effing Kerry.
Huckabee was a regular guest on the old Imus show.
I think Imus has some affection for the guy.
I was expecting it.
What would you clowns be saying if Fred had done this?
There is a lot you can say about Imus ....but he was never anti-military !! Give the guy his just due please !!
I LIKE MIKE!
