This isn't over for Chavez - he'll try again, and this time, he'll make absolutely sure he wins the vote.
No matter what he does, however, I don't look for him to finish out his 'elected' term - someone's gonna get him one way or another. He won't die peacefully in his sleep.

Exactly.
I am sure that even when it has been voted down, they didn’t really mean it.

Pretty close, much more and he could have pulled a Gore and demanded recount after recount. Surprised he conceded, looks like even Chavez has more class than Gore.

Dem. Underground is in mourning today.
Their favorite dictator lost a vote.

Also, considering the narrow "official" margin, it is still possible that Chavez will find some uncounted ballots somewhere.

Chavez isn't worried.
A hanging-chad SWAT team already has been dispatched by the Florida State Supreme Court. They will arrive in Caracas this morning.

“it is still possible that Chavez will find some uncounted ballots somewhere.” .................. The uncounted Cuban Military votes? And let’s not forget the faulty computerized voting machines.

Hopefully this will pan out, and we won’t have another “election” before 2013 where he’ll magically win the right to be president for life.

Don’t tell him the trick the school boards use around here...
If they get a ‘no’ vote, just repackage it and try again, and again, and again...
I am grateful and relieved, but we shall see if he ever gives up on power.
