I think you're right, but I suspect there is something more at work here. There is a palpable tension in America between black men and women. Perhaps this results from serial bad behavior on the part of black men, many of whom have adopted a "gang" ethic with its focus on crime and drugs, abandoned their families, and generally rejected personal responsibility.
