Thompson/Huckabee.
Rudy’s going down. They haven’t even permitted the girlfriend graft news to hit the pages yet. Rudy will spiral over this for the next 3 weeks.
The fight for the limo liberal rino’s dollars is taking place between romney/huckabee. If Romney can’t put the wishy/washy mormon thing to rest, they know he’s not a national candidate.
That leaves Huck and Thompson.
Thompson is the conservative with the right illegal alien position, the right taxation position, and the endorsement of Nat’l Right to Life.

Excerpts from future MSM headlines about Huckabee. Who care about that? The would just energize the Christian and social conservative vote even more.
The issue with Huckabee is liberal stances on multiple issues and how much of the base he might lose because of those stances.

Rush was careful to point out that he didn't necessarily agree that the MSM would be able to demonize Huckabee like they believe they can.
Huckabee's liberal streaks are, by far, the bigger the problem.

It still looks to me like Fred is in a good place. He needs to fill the void as Giuliani and Romney, hopefully, continue to drop.

To dream the impossible dream...
Fred Thompson isn't winning the nomination. Too little enthusiasm, too late of an entry in the race.

Its not looking good for Ol Fred. Maybe he would be willing to settle for a VP spot?
What is it about Mitt Supporters here on FreeRepublic that makes them so hypocritical?
You're guy is only polling at 11% after spending millions more than Fred and at least 9 more months of campaigning.
If you need to bemoan any candidates current position, it should be yours!

Fred Thompson isn't winning the nomination. Too little enthusiasm, too late of an entry in the race. I have faith that people will select Fred because he would make the best President, not count him out because of the superficial things you just mentioned.

This is either old or fraudulent and is directly contradicted by Rassmussen.

I agree.
If Rudy really was a conservative (and really cared about the Republican Party) he would drop out--and let the Party (or even HELP the Party) nominate a 'consensus conservative' that would UNITE the Party and ENERGIZE the base. His candidacy does just the opposite!!

True enough.
I dont think the liberal media’s attacks on the love child of G.w.B. and Clinton would be the problem. It would be Huck’s record that is the problem. Pro-illegals, pro-tax, squishy on the WOT, big government..yeah, a Liberals dream except for the “religion” thing.
On the plus side Huck’s rise seems to offend everyone. Fiscal, WOT, border defenders...even some social conservatives that don’t think abandoning everyone else in the colaition is the way to vitory. So while he’s draining Rudy’s numbers Huck is now being barraged by almost every corner of the Republican elite media.
Fred’s job is to be visble and most importantly make his record visble so iowa voters just NOW paying attention realize there is a conservative option and break towards him.

The really big news is that The Hildabeast is down from 50% to 39% in one month. That is incredible. That is huge. She is down 22% in 30 days!
Rudy's drop is tiny compared to her's!
