The telephone surveys of 425 Republicans and Republican-leaning independents and 494 Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents have margins of error of +/5 percentage points.

Interesting how the MSM is touting Huckabee. This may very well come back to haunt them. They are going to have to start white washing Hillary pretty soon.

It’s not looking good for Ol’ Fred. Maybe he would be willing to settle for a VP spot?
To: Michael A. Velli
Fred’s tied for second. Your boy Willard the Weatherman isn’t even mentioned.

Huckabee is at 16, Freddie and McCain are at 15 (according to the article, as far as I can tell), and the MOE is 5.
Huck, Fred and John are statistically tied for second.

Applying the +-5% MoE, I come up with this probable scenario:
Guiliani 24 - 5 = 19%
Huckabee 16 + 0 = 16%
Thompson 15 + 5 = 20% * Leader

Technically possible, but given the nature of statistics, HIGHLY unlikely.

Rush discussed a theory regarding MSM Huckabee love today and I found it plausible.
Huckabee is most like Bush from a God/Jesus in the oval office standpoint. First they get him nominated and then they use all the “Hate Bush” momentum against Huckabee.
For what it’s worth...

With the 5% margin of error...it is no stretch at all that Fred could be realistically ahead.
The Giuliani camp should be very concerned. The Huckabee thing sounds so much like Howard Dean 4 yrs ago.
I find the MSM tends to favor the pro illegal candidates...which hurts Fred in media coverage...but when push comes to shove this issue will help Fred (along w Hunter and Tancredo)

Huckabee had a good week, but one point off Mike's number is close enough to even. So Rudy’s numbers are coming down, Romney is not in the top 3, and Huckabee is increasingly under more scrutiny in some areas where he is “conservatively challenged”. It still looks to me like Fred is in a good place.
