He fired them now because he got caught....because the Boston Globe did what he should have done: ask the workers about their status.

If he was concerned about the illegal immigration problem, he’d have tried to get the company fined and the illegals deported.

K-LO over at the Corner is miffed that they Globe was staking out his house! LOL.

He got caught and that is the biggest problem. And just last week this was brought up at the debate.

Hey Mitt, the guys on you lawn still had ‘funny accents’ as of today!

Let me be clear that I'm NOT a Romney fan but it seems to me he could make this a positive pretty quickly by stating that he's just following the law in not asking about their immigration status. Then he could play off that by seeking to change it.

But Romney got caught on this a year ago when the Globe first reported this! How in hades did he not fire them after he got caught the first time???

In 2006, the Globe publicly exposes the fact that his lawn company employs illegal aliens...so he continues to employ them while at the same time blithely spending the year campaigning for president in part on the immigration enforcement issue? I honestly don’t get it. It seems like a massive, inexplicable SNAFU.
