I think this is spot-on.
There's no question that outstanding progress has been made. Consider this though, from the standpoint of enemy strategy- suspend operations, withdraw Iranian cross-border forces, and wait for political pressure to withdraw to mount- until it is successful. Then- you're still right there, with a regrouped and reconstituted force, and the Americans military infrastructure is mostly thousands of miles away.
Not saying that that's what this is, I'm saying that's what it could be. It's what I'd do if I were running the Jihadist show. And I trust the word of the enemy about as far as I can throw an MRAP.
The way to counter it would be to make absolutely certain that the Iraqis are as stable and defensively solid as they can be made to be before the American withdrawal ultimately takes place.
"I'm not an Jihadi terrorist, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night."
200 can move elsewhere, too.
Just wow.... amazing BTTT...
LOL! These guys sure have no clue when it comes to their public pronouncements. Great news!
Ditto that! At our rate we are only talking 2-3 months!
let’s not let our guard down. remember, Muslims are allowed to lie to the enemy whil
You aren’t understanding the point of this thread at all. It IS good news.
Comparing an Al Qaeda spokesman to my “cowboy hero”, Ronald Reagan, is a bit of a stretch isn’t it, Schlocky?
I think it is an indirect admission by Al Qaeda that it is all over for them in Iraq. Remember that Bin Laden basically said in his last speech about Iraq that "Darkness has turned in pitch black" and he basically gave up on Iraq.
Bravo to the USA and our coalition partners. I do wonder where the fat boy Sadr is. i hope his sheep followers have deserted him or been killed off. The Iraqi’s need to get it together and not squander the opportunity they’ve been given, the opportunity that came at the cost of American lives. I am hopeful.
I did the translation myself as Arabic is my native language.p> However I gave a link for the whole speech in Arabic and I even showed the Arabic statement in Arabic in one of my later post on the thread in case someone want to do the translation using google
Not till we kill the last two hundred. EVery last one of them ought to die.
Oh Lord, I have turned bloodthirsty.
I love the sound of this but it still scares me. It’s like a snake you find and give it a hard whack. It looks dead but you still don’t reach down and pick it up until you cut the head off with a shovel.
If you like to translate the important quote from the speech which I based my thread upon please translate this one:
ومع هذا فالمهاجرون اليوم في بلاد الرافدين زهدوا في الدنيا وسارعوا إلى لقاء ربهم بعد ما ضحوابأموالهم ودمائهم تارة بالعمليات الاستشهادية وتارة يقذفون أنفسهم في نحورالعدو حتى لم يبقَ منهم اليوم في عراقنا الحبيب إلا مئتا مهاجر
I did the translation myself as Arabic is my native language but you may want to use google translation or other free translating software if you wish to confirm what I posted.
Who can you trust ? not politicians

Figures so noted with an asterisk (*) indicates deaths as a result of
Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
You may initially feel confused when you look at these figures
when you see that in 1980, during the term of President Jimmy Carter,
were 2,392 US military fatalities. What this clearly indicates is that
media and our liberal politicians pick and choose and tend to present
those facts that support their agenda driven reporting. Another fact
left media and politicians like to slant is that these brave men and
losing their lives are minorities. Wrong again - The latest census
European descent (white) ..... 69.12%
Hispanic .... 12.5%
African American ..... 12.3%
Asia n ..... 3.7%
Native American .... 1.0%
Other ..... 2.6%
The fatalities over the past three years in Iraqi Freedom are:
European descent (white) .... 74.31%
Hispanic .... 10.74%
African American ... 9.67%
Asian ..... 1.81%
Native American .... 1.09%
Other .... 2.33%
These statistics are published by DOD and may be viewed at:
Thank you so much for your good work.
Time to really crank up the pressure.
very interesting statistics....Too bad the DBM isn’t interested in facts.
Do not you love to see VICTORY parades in US cities and towns for our troops coming from Iraq sometimes next year?
What a great idea!
Of course it’s fishy. They are just waiting for us to stand down and then they’ll be back.
Yes, we won the ‘war’ - it’s the occupation that’s going to be the problem. Wars don’t stay won in the ME. That’s been the case for centuries and it ain’t gonna stop now.
I say we kill 2000 more just to be safe.
We’ll leave when the Iraqi’s finish learning how to play whack-a-mole. I saw an interview with a Colonel who was talking about how he encourages the Iraqis to integrate. He said he shows them all the white, black, brown, etc. Americans working together and reminds them that we don’t historically all get along that well either, but when we pull together in the military we make the best fighting force the world has ever seen. It’s hard to argue with that kind of logic.
My interpretation is a bit different. Yes, it’s good news. From the Iranian view, Iraq is lost, and we have troops in Iraq that could attack Iran and destroy their nuclear weapons program. Those troops are no longer tied down by violence in Iraq, so the Iranians want us to declare victory and go home, leaving an active Iranian nuclear weapons program that is close to mass production (3 months to 3 years).
Not yet......but we did win this battle!!
I agree, Let's be skeptical of the enemy. When there are no more press releases by the enemy we will know that Victory is close.
As long as there is one enemy with a computer left alive, or access to enemy media, there will still be press releases. And that is STILL victory!
I noted in an earlier thread that the terrorists weren't surging very well. I cited some stats back then to show that while Al Qaeda was able to ramp up, that they were never able to ramp up enough to matter, and that they couldn't sustain even those feeble increases for long.
I speculated that based on the stats of the past 6 months that Al Qaeda *was* surging already...that what was left of their forces was doing everything that they could (even though their overall lethality was declining each month).
And here lies an insurmountable problem for Al Qaeda: they were surging in the past 6 months in order to make it appear as though they hadn't been damaged as much as reality would dictate, and their history shows that they can't keep up such efforts for long...which means that their lethality is about to drop off of a cliff.
It's like they have been playing 11-man football with only 8 men; those 8 men were sprinting in order to make a game of it, but they can only sprint for so long. Now they are down to just 2 men ... and those 2 can't even sprint any longer.
It's over. Al Qaeda has been defeated. I'm confident that U.S. casualties in Iraq will plummet in December and January even though Al Qaeda is speechifying for a grand "surge" of their own in public.
Won't happen. Not on the ground where it counts.
You must be kidding. Being a liberal means never having to say you are sorry.
You have been one of the most decisive rhetorical forces in favor of our troops since the beginning of the Iraq war.
Thanks so much for your great work.
Just doing my little duty my FRiend.
JV, you are one of my favorite Freepers! You do the work that many of us wish we could do ourselves. You truly are an asset to our team!
Thank you very much, I am proud to be in the company of so many great freepers.
Yep, if you keep on killing them they will eventually go away. Too bad we can’t now use that same method on our enemies here in Congress.
” Bogus Mr. Baghdadi”
Just to make this clear, I am not this man! I am Bogus Pachysandra, the Doctor!
“AQI is a media monster that can’t survive without camera time.”
What a profound and truth-filled statement! The sorry-a$$ world media has been feeding this very same monster for years. What a cash cow for them. Wonder where they are going to go now....
Sadly, talk to any liberal, and they will tell you that there has been no progress in Iraq and the troops should immediately be withdrawn. The liberals have lost. Our brave men and women and all who have supported this war have won.
Amen. The traitors here at home and the terrorists abroad have bet everything they have on America’s defeat in Iraq, they are now both utterly defeated.
