I’m 41 and he started talking about a civil war in the 70’s. He figured it would happen in my lifetime, but probably not his. He passed away 4 years ago. I think he’s right. I’m ready for it when it does happen, but I’m hoping that things would change course in this country pertaining to race, but don’t think it will happen.
I'm 'a bit' older, 59 :-) and the 70's were 'tense' times in Chicago. The MLK riots were fresh memories, white flight was still going on plus the 'Black Power' race hustlers were instigating trouble every chance they got. But IMO today it's more troubling because of the illegals.
Blacks are getting screwed over now by them too. Those 'jobs Americans won't do' were done by Blacks (fry cook, bus boy, drywall, ditch digger, roofer, laborer, etc), so now they have almost squat. So I don't think it's too smart for the illegals and their enablers to push too hard. They're getting everyone ticked
One day there'll be one straw too many put on the camel's back. When it breaks it ain't gonna be pretty. More of that Mexican Flag bs and 'demanding rights' marches could do it.
