An elderly man was found near an escalator in the store, and police said a young black man was being sought as the suspected shooter. Early indications were that as many as five people may be injured.
Colby Barak told KETV NewsWatch 7 that she was on lockdown inside Westroads Mall. She said she was doing Christmas shopping at Younkers, and an announcement was made that no one would be allowed to leave.
Just before 2 p.m., Barrett said, another announcement was made that shoppers could leave but would not be allowed back in.
Dozens of police and sheriff's cars were arriving at the mall.
A description of the shooter, broadcast over scanners, was that he was in an Army-green vest and was holding a rifle.
Another Westroads shopper, Kathy, told KETV NewsWatch 7 that she heard three pops. She said a Bath and Body Works manager approached her and told her to get out of the mall hallway as there was a situation, and a shooter had not been located.
Strange that such a heavily rural and conservative state would be so backward in the RKBA department.
How do you know? Let's not over speculate here like the MSM does...
I never go to the mall after the sun goes down. Too bad law abiding citizens can’t walk the streets or go to the mall in many places in this country. The criminals, drug dealers, muggers, rapists all can AND do. Something’s NOT right.

Heavily armed? Is that a figure of speech? My 9mm carries 16 rounds. 15 in the mag and 1 in the chamber. That means one guy with one hand gun could have done that. (Though, I have heard it was a rifle....)
Course, if I carried several more mags.... then would that make me “heavily armed” too? Or because I was armed with a weapon and extra mags, does that make me a bad guy? (*to anyone other than the MSM and liberal idiots anyway)

maybe they were referring to number of shots being equated wtih heavily armed.. ie heavily armed with bullets.

“Heavily armed” is, in my opinion nothing more than a speculative statement that is made to scare the crap out of the public to make someone sound worse than they are. When things come out in the wash, they usually bust someone for.. oh say drug possession and report “...and five guns were recovered, and dozens of rounds of ammunition” so that it sounds BAD for guns. Never mind the guy had 300 lbs of coke in his car trunk.
Now they’re saying numerous stores involved..that would be including the shooter randomly shooting at the escalator?
Its not that he should be identified one way or the other its an observation that if he was white the media would have spared no effort to make that point and have pictures asap like they did with Tim Mcvey or the FBI profilers releasing likely shooter descriptions with the Beltway shooters
According to The Boston Globe, two guns and 100 rounds of ammunition is an “arsenal.”
***If he was white, they'd still be saying white male, you can bet your bottom dollar on that. I wouldn't fault them for that. It's the PC nonsense that I object to, not what color someone is.
