I’m not a fan of what the Senate is doing - that’s the job of the IRS. A church that submits to the IRS rules for 501(c) has to expect the government to peek into their kickers from time to time.
Disclaimer out of the way.
Creflo Dollar is not a preacher of the Word. He is preacher of the world. Here’s a bit of Creflo Dollar’s “gospel” - “Well, you need to hear about money, because you ain’t gonna have no love and joy and peace until you get some money!”
You can read about more such false teachers here - http://www.menofhonorministry.org/Discipleship/FalseTeachings.pdf
With Congress spending money like drunken sailors, what business of their is it to investigate religous organizations?
“...render to Ceaser the things that are Ceasers and to God the things that are Gods”...
I have no respect for Crefflo Dollar for personal reasons, but I don’t agree with ‘reverends’ making millions tax free.
The purpose of tax free was because typically ‘reverends’ weren’t millionnaires and did more for the community. Not in this day and age.
Looks like God is throwing the money-changers out of his temple...again.
This is a tough one. I can’t stand guys like Creflo Dollar and firmly believe they are preaching a false gospel. I can’t stand Congress, either. So, it’s hard to say which I’d rather see go down on this.
Good that he is challenging the government’s role in this. If people want to give thier money away, that’s their business. I think there’s a right somewhere in the constitution for peoople to be as stupid as they want to be.
I’ll buy into the tax exempt argument as soon as an investigation is launched into the practice of liberal candidates campaigning from the pulpit of black churches.
