Sounds like my trip to Texas 20+ years ago. I was shocked to see ashtrays in the aisles of the grocery stores.

Back when I was a bride-to-be, I registered for gifts at the now belly-up Folands. Walked around with a clipboard in one hand and a smoke in the other.

I also remember visiting my husband, before we were married, while he was at work at Radio Shack. We'd hang out on the salesfloor, smoking. That was back in 1990.

Where have you two been?

I had an ashtray (and used it copiously) in the delivery room where my two kids were born (1982 and 1984).

God, I miss that.
