When Secretary Gates was in Baghdad this week, it was announced that lack of congressional funding could result in "pink slips for up to 200,000 Defense Department employees." Hearing the story, one young soldier heading out on patrol commented, "Somebody call me if I get laid off."

LOL! Fantastic! Thanks Jaz. Just saw Col. North on Hannity and Colmes. He's bringing us wonderful stories right now. I tell ya, Congress refusing to fund the troops is making me furious. I've been emailing them nearly every day to get it done before Christmas. We need a Levin surge. Their failure is outrageous. Maybe Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid think laying off civilians is no big deal. They should read this: Road Kill by Oliver North

Your right, it is outrageous. I did read something earlier that Pelosi is folding on her refusal to bring up any more funding bills due to the civilian employees possibly being laid off. We’re going to have an interesting couple weeks coming up, they can’t stand by and let 200,000 notices go out even if they funded later. lol

I tell ya, Congress refusing to fund the troops is making me furious.

I think they're doing that because of how well our troops (and the Iraqi troops) are doing. The violence is down so drastically and al Qaeda is pretty much defeated (that incident in Baqouba today is a dying gasp).

The Dems in Congress will do anything to derail this victory.

This needs to be made as public as possible, so that they sweat getting re-elected to their seats. Congress is trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and the media is in collusion with them.
