Racism at Annapolis

The Washington Post is the only major newspaper that reported on this disturbing exchange at Annapolis last week. During a closed-door session among foreign ministers and diplomats the day after the summit, Israel’s Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni reportedly asked the Arabs attending the conference, “Why doesn’t anyone want to shake my hand? Why doesn’t anyone want to be seen speaking to me?” The Post quoted a Dutch diplomat who heard the remarks as saying, “They shun her like she is Count Dracula’s younger sister.”

On Friday, Caroline Glick wrote in her column for the Jerusalem Post,

This week the Bush administration legitimized Arab anti-Semitism. In an effort to please the Saudis and their Arab brothers, the Bush administration agreed to physically separate the Jews from the Arabs at the Annapolis conference in a manner that aligns with the apartheid policies of the Arab world which prohibit Israelis from setting foot on Arab soil.

Evident everywhere, the discrimination against Israel received its starkest expression at the main assembly of the Annapolis conference on Tuesday. There, in accordance with Saudi demands, the Americans prohibited Israeli representatives from entering the hall through the same door as the Arabs.

… It is true that Israel has security concerns, but as far as Rice is concerned, the Palestinians are the innocent victims. They are the ones who are discriminated against and humiliated, not Livni, who was forced—by Rice—to enter the conference through the service entrance.

One wonders if this development might have received more widespread coverage had the Arabs been made to enter the hall through the service entrance—or if Secretary Rice had.

===================================

The recent Annapolis Conference is a case in point. I asked a very knowledgeable friend in Israel if the Hebrew Media actually reported what went on. When I mentioned a few incidents known in America, I was told that, either it was not mentioned in Israel’s Hebrew Media or, if it was, it was positioned in a few lines of commentary and in language stilted to trivialize the event.

For example, the Saudi King Faisal stated plainly that he would NOT shake the hand of the Israeli Prime Minister or Foreign Minister. (That was the position of Hafez al Assad (former President of Syria) wherein he too stated that he would rather cut off his hand than shake the hand of Jews.) During the opening ceremonies the Saudi King stated that he would not go through the same main entrance, IF the Jewish delegation also was allowed to enter through that main passage. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice accommodated the Saudis by having the Israelis enter through a service door, otherwise used by servants.

To the shame of Olmert, he accepted the Rice-Saudi insult and entered as a servant or known in Arabic as a "Dhimmi" or lowly person. This was NOT reported in the Hebrew Media.

In a news editorial in the prestigious Wall St. Journal (1), an editorial was printed entitled "The Saudis New PR Man" by Dan Senor, a well known foreign policy advisor to the Bush Administration. (He is no longer in that position.) We are informed by Senor that Olmert lobbied presidential candidates and members of Congress that their skepticism about the possibility of Annapolis succeeding was misplaced. (He became the "pitchman" for Rice, Bush, the Saudis and thus, the title of "The Saudis’ New PR Man". We are further informed by Senor that the Israeli Press Corps was kicked outside during a press event wherein, under Rice Protocol, the Arab League foreign ministers were to be interviewed by the Press Corps which presumably included all the American and European Media. The Israeli Press Corps were made to stand outside in the rain to cover the story as best they could. Although, no doubt, the Israeli journalist reported this grossly unpardonable insult, the Hebrew Media in Israel chose not to inform the Israeli public.

When the Israeli Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister are escorted to use the service entry to the building AND they willingly do so, there are serious issues at hand. Welcome to the New World Order. Men and nations lay down to die. The leaders in Israel are saying, "It is time for us to lay down." If the Jewish people agree, so be it. If they don't then they had better make some changes, and do it fast.

One thing this thread clearly demonstrates is that there are two distinct strains of BDS:

BDS - Bush Derangement Syndrome

and

BDS - Bush Deification Syndrome

Both are deadly threats to the security and continued survival of this nation as well as Israel.

This article was fairly tame compared to Frank Gaffney’s a couple of weeks ago, where he accused Sec. Rice of organizing a “gang-rape” of Israel. Gaffney jumped the shark in that article.

There are a lot of excellent points made on this thread on both sides of the issue.

As pointed out in post 14 and others, the administration has been strongly supportive of Israel but now is moving toward pressuring Israel for more concessions while not demanding the same of the muslims.

To me this has the stink of the classic mad dash for a presidential mideast legacy ala Bill Clinton and Mad Maddy Albright.

Whatever your feelings about the article consider this observation:

"Submitting to Saudi demands, the Americans prohibited Israeli representatives from entering the hall through the same door as the Arabs."

"It is unfathomable to consider this with any other race, creed or color. Imagine separate entrances for the leader of an African nation because a "white" leader refused to walk through the same door as the black man, because it would be unclean?"

This is not how great nations treat their friends.
Israelis did not murder 3,000 Americans, but Saudi Arabians did.
Why does the administration make concessions to the Saudi Arabians while treating Israelis as lepers?

This administration owes the Israeli people an apology.

Israel is unworthy not just of her ancestors but of God. No self-respecting Jew should accept such treatment. Those who submit to it, deserve the humiliation, abasement and contempt thrown upon them.

Although some of the author’s rhetoric is a bit over-the-top, she’s absolutely right in her assertion that the way the Israeli delegation was treated (given the back door treatment) at that Arab ass-kissing-fest was a complete disgrace.

"This administration owes the Israeli people an apology."

Just for starters. They owe the Israeli people a hell of a lot more than an apology! I'm disgusted and ashamed at my government's actions toward the Israeli delegation to this sham in Annapolis.

The way they kiss the asses of the so called “Palestinians” makes me sick. They should go back to Jordan where that belong. Israel should annex Judea and Samaria and throw the Arabs the hell out.

Excellent piece!

"...The Jew as dhimmi was made official and the world was there to bear witness. Moreover, Israel laid down. Sheba Farms, Golan, Jerusalem - all were thrown on the table like so many marbles.
Bat Yeor was dead right in her reply when I asked her what had become of the people of Israel: "Israel is unworthy of her ancestors."..."

There is something so 'unholy' about Israel giving up Jerusalem, and something else that is unlikely about giving up the Golan Heights anytime soon.

It feels like a feint - like something else is about to happen ...................................... FRegards

but Bush tried ONCE AGAIN to bring the players together to at least get them to talk.

Bush couldn't give two sh*ts about substantive "peace". He is in "legacy mode", which for the last 3 Administrations has meant one thing: F*ck the Jews. 15 of 19 9/11 mass-murderers were Saudi? No problem, we won't hold them accountable. Palestinian men, women and children danced in the streets as the WTC fell, burying 3,000 in the rubble? No problem, let's reward them with a "state". It is all utter madness. All because of oil.

There appears to be a bone deep animosity toward conservatives and Republicans in large segments of the American Jewish community. Personal contact leads me to suspect it is Jewish self-hatred, possibly, survivor-guilt passed from one generation to the next.

Most of those who vote Democrat are not real Jews at all. They are not observant of any Old Testament laws. They attend synagogue once a year, if at all. they do not observe the sabbath. They are "JINOs". When you go to a "Reform" Jewish temple, you hear more Marx than Moses in the sermons of the "rabbi". They are not real Jews at all. They are the Democrat "Jewish" base. They might as well be Martians...they are about as "Jewish".

In contrast, 69% of "Orthodox" (religious) Jews voted for George W. Bush in 2004, according to the Republican Jewish Coalition. Hopefully, once all the left-wing escapee JINOs in Florida die off, their commie kids abort, turn gay or intermarry, we can finally be done with those who have disgraced the proud memory and history of Jews by their love affair with Socialism. Good riddance to them all. Meanwhile, religious Jews are very conservative and are having 6.5 kids per family. The future is bright for Jews in America.

Unfortunately, the future is not bright for Jews in Israel, where traitors control every arm of government.

The fact that the Israeli people didn't drag Olmert out of his office and lynch him on the nearest lamppost after his disgraceful surrender to Hizbollah showed us that Israel is finished as a nation.
