Colombian drug smugglers deliberately sank a submarine off the country's Pacific coast this week that had been filled with tonnes of cocaine destined for the US, the country's navy said.
The homemade submarine was spotted by a Colombian air force plane and pursued by Colombian navy and US Coast Guard boats. The submarine's four crew members opened the hatches and allowed water to enter before surrendering.
The craft, with an estimated capacity of 12 tonnes of cocaine, sank in 3,000 metres of water, said Admiral Edgar Cely, the navy's chief of operations.
The crew's clothing was covered with traces of the white powdery drug, he said.
I bet Charlie The Tuna is swimming upside down and grinning.
Life’s a bitch, just launched and just sunk.
I guess they may as well have rolled in it, snorted up as much as they could. It was going to be a long day ahead...
Oh yea... The war on drugs is a Reagan ERA failure. Isn’t that what they say?
I’ll bet the water and air crafts pursuing this thing were purchased with U.S. WOD dollars and I say, money well spent!
no wonder whales are beaching themselfs
beach patrol will probably start arresting the whales for SUI
I guess the Illegal cocaine stock market just went up...
Oh wait, that would only happen if it were legal, like oil
“no wonder whales are beaching themselfs”
Proof that it’s not caused by Navy Sonar.
And leaving speedboat rooster tails as wakes..
No, but the dolphins in the area can talk their way out of anything.
No kidding. I don't think you can even find/buy cocaine in the USA.
A homemade submarine? Wow, I am so behind the times....
“Proof that its not caused by Navy Sonar.”
Or,,,Global Warming!
“No, but the dolphins in the area can talk their way out of anything.”
