Sheila was pretty, both inside and out; she was sassy, she lived with dignity and she had a voice like an angel. When she sang her favorite gospel songs of praise to the Lord, Sheila could lead the most unwilling agnostic to rethink their philosophy. She sang from her soul.

If one word defines Sheila’s core, the word is patriot.

Sheila joined the Navy in May of 1968 during the Vietnam conflict, in a time when women were just beginning to break into the male-domineered forces.

RIP Sheila Clarkson

Her husband Bill and I were working together on 911. Sheila was the first to call us and kept us posted as the events of the day transpired.

She will not be forgotten.
