Two men suspected of burglarizing a neighbor's home were shot in the back by Pasadena homeowner Joe Horn after the suspects ventured into his front yard, Pasadena police disclosed Friday.
Also, for the first time, investigators revealed the Nov. 14 shooting was witnessed by a plainclothes Pasadena detective, who had pulled up in an unmarked car seconds before Horn fired three shots from his 12-guage shotgun.
The detective's name was not released as the new details emerged about the controversial shootings that have outraged minority activists but also brought an outpouring of support from others.

Yes, they are illegals. The police had been looking for them. Their last names are Hispanic, but one of them is definitely black. I 'think' they are from Peru but were passing themselves off as Columbians, and were part of a gang who was breaking into homes to steal guns, etc.

I have a hard time getting myself to believe these two criminals would not resort to eliminating a witness who was home alone in a house they would have targeted in the future. (it has probably already happened)

Mr. Horn MUST have NO CHARGES filed against him, and if charges are filed, he MUST BE ACQUITTED.
He is a hero, not a criminal. He did nothing wrong. In fact, any law-abiding US CITIZEN should be encouraged to do EXACTLY what Mr. Horn did.

A reasonable society would not force you to wait for the perp to turn around, from which position he could shoot you if he's armed.
In most states, breaking and entering is the crime of breaking in, and larceny/theft is the crime of theft, but burglary is an aggravated level of crime when you break and enter in the nighttime with the intent of theft.
As many have pointed out, this isn't the way burglary is defined in Texas -- there is no requirement that the event occur in the nighttime.

I repeat, all he said before he shot was “You’re dead” Boom, Boom. I also repeat, he said to the dispatcher, I’m going to kill them.

If Horn wants to run for office, I'll gladly manage his campaign. I can't believe people on THIS site are giving him a hard time.
