It is presently interpreted to mean that states cannot charge sales tax on goods as they leave, but states can charge sales tax on goods that are imported from other states (even though those same goods were, of course, exported from the state of manufacture).

I’m conflicted. On the one hand, I love not paying tax on online sales. On the other hand, as a web designer, my clients will have to pay me to set up their e-commerce sites with the new system.
Only the hunters. And they only get out of their trucks to take a few “sound shots” now and then. My brother calls them “beer hunters”.
I expect the Masshole northern migration to continue unabated as it has all of my 60 years and before.

Well, that explains the "use" in the sales and use tax here in Virginia.
What a bunch of crap. How can you "lose money" when you're just confiscating less?
The last time I was in a store was to buy a car.
Just bought a $1000 Laptop in Newark, Delaware. No sales tax there. $15 gas expended, $50 sales tax saved. Wooo Hooo!
Why are states entitled to tax on products which are not produced or involve any labor or preparation within those states?

I’ve heard of people in bigger urban areas order groceries online and have them delivered. No idea how well it works as I’m in the middle of nowhere.
